Beauty Product Reviews
Love it!
This little kit is so handy. The colors are nice, although I wish they would come out with more options. The middle brown color is a red-based brown, but nearly a true brown. The bottom color is a few shades lighter than black, almost a charcoal/brown color. The wax at the top does a nice job of shaping and holding the brows.
The star of this kit is the little brush though, honestly. Which is odd to say, as with most makeup products the brushes/applicators are total junk. If you have thick brows, you may not like the brush - but if you have thinner brows it's perfect. Most "brow" brushes I've tried have been too thick for me. If the one in this kit had a longer handle, I could die happy.
Basically, this is a wonderful little kit for the price and is definitely worth trying out.
Flawless!
These eyeshadows are hands down the best eyeshadows you can find at a drugstore. I'd even argue that they're better than any high-end brand.
The pigmentation of these is incredible. They are so rich and smooth and blend to perfection. The texture is literally like butter. The lasting power is also something to mention. Obviously it all depends on skin type, skin "mood", primers, etc. - but 9 times out of 10 I can get through my 10 hour workday without these creasing.
The colors in these trios go fairly well together as a complete look. I use Silent Treatment several times within a week. Walking on Eggshells is another favorite of mine.
For those MAC-obsessed girls out there, Walking on Eggshells contains dupes for Cork, Shroom and Naked Lunch.
For the Urban Decay obsessed, the texture of these eyeshadows is literally the same (if not better) as UD's shadows.
Overall, for 2-3 bucks, you're out of your mind if you don't get a couple of these trios.
I hate the word amazeballs, but...
This is amazeballs.
It does an incredible job at soaking up any excess oil in your hair. It DOES leave a whitecast behind, but once it soaks up the oil, and you brush it/rub it through your scalp and hair, it will die down and eventually go away.
I would recommend blasting the absolute crap out of your hair with this when you go to bed. Then when you wake up, brush it out, style how you style, and your hair will be flawless with no oil or white residue to be found.
This is on the pricier side for a dry shampoo, but it's totally worth it.
I absolutely hate this stuff.
Let me start out by saying I absolutely LOVE the original Batiste, but the brunette one is AWFUL.
It didn't do such a great job at soaking up oil. In fact, it made my hair feel dirtier.
The brunette tint it gives your hair just goes everywhere. If you put your hands through your hair, they will be brown. If you're wearing white, dear god please don't wear white when you use this. It will no longer be white, but also brown. Everything. Brown.
Basically, this is just terrible. Would not recommend.
My go-to liner.
I really like this stuff. I've always had trouble finding an eyeliner that stays put on my waterline. But after using this, I'm pretty much sold. It gives me a solid 6 hours of wear on my waterline and that is RIDICULOUS considering all other liners I've tried (and believe me I've tried a lot) can't even last for two hours. This liner though, goes on smoothly. It's a bit on the drier side, so its not gonna slip and slide and be the creamiest most glorious application. But it stays put. Trust me. And it's retractable! Uh, hello? Perfect eyeliner for someone as lazy as myself. :)
Oh god I love this stuff.
I have strong dislike for the term "holy grail" - but I have to say it. This is my absolute holy grail mascara.
Now, I'm a bit of a mascara junkie, and therefore have about a million tubes going at once, but this is the first mascara EVER that I have used until there was literally absolutely no more to use.
The brush and the formula are just the perfect combination. It gives you SO much volume, and a decent amount of length as well. I'm good to go with one coat. I obviously do two coats because I just can't help myself, but they're not kidding with the "One coat" claims.
Now onto the other claims.. This is not going to make your lashes grow longer or stronger. There aren't any ingredients in it that will be truly beneficial in that sense. However, it's not gonna kill your lashes either.
Overall, I don't really have any desire to buy any other mascaras after using this. It's flawless. Doesn't even flake. And it's somewhere in the 5 dollar range. Can't. Go. Wrong.
I really hate to write such a negative review, since I love Urban Decay as a brand so much.
But I have to say it. This powder is terrible for the price. It does mattify - don't get me wrong. But for what, 30 bucks? I could get 10 Rimmel Stay Matte powders for that price and have better results!
I guess I'll start with the pros though.. The obvious would be the packaging. Holy cuteness, Batman. And as stated before, it does mattify your face. Unfortunately that's the end of the road in terms of pros.
Now to the bad stuff? Number one, it's 30 freakin dollars. I managed to snag mine for 50% off, but still. Next, this is a WHITE powder. And that is obvious on your face until it begins to truly soak up the oil. It smells like straight up talc. Which for the record, isn't the best ingredient to be putting on your skin. I don't have the oiliest skin out there, but I have to reapply this within two hours.
So with all that being said, I would say save your money. If you want a decent mattifying powder and don't care about the outrageously pretty packaging, go get you some Rimmel Stay Matte powder. Seriously.
Neither here nor there.
It's not my favorite mascara and for the price I think it could be a lot better.
First, the brush is pretty dense, but also rather large so it's not the easiest to work with. The formula isn't dry but isn't wet either. It's a happy medium. It does what it says and creates extra thick, voluminous lashes.. I looove the way it makes my lashes look.
However, it has a tendency to flake off and it will definitely smudge on your lower lashline.
So for the price? No thanks. You can get the same effect without the flaking for like 5 bucks with Almay's Get up and Grow mascara. Just sayin. :)
