Gorgeous!
I've only recently started to explore the Charlotte Tilbury line and while I think a few of her products are a tad overrated, these eye shadows are unbelievable!
There is something so beautifully multi-dimensional about this formula that I don't find the need to use any other eye shadows with it; it has depth, shine, outstanding color payoff, and blends like a dream. Per Charlotte's recommendation, I apply this all over the lid with my finger and then use a blending brush to work it into the crease and blend the edges (the Goss 06 is a great option). Smoke it out a bit, add a "feline flick" with the kohl pencil, and be ready to dazzle!
Great forumla!
I recently purchased the Velour Liquid Lipsticks in Androgyny, Hoe Hoe Hoe and Weirdo, and I have to say I'm really liking this formula! The colors are extremely opaque and vibrant, and this is easily the most comfortable liquid lipstick formula I've tried to date. The only reason I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 is because of how they fade... While they are very long lasting, once they start to fade it can look a little awkward; I personally find the KVD liquid lipsticks and OCC lip tars fade much nicer, however the KVD formula isn't as comfortable and lip tars aren't transfer resistant.
Great ingredient list for a primer!
I'm going to preface this review by stating that I don't normally use primers. Personally, I don't find them all that necessary, but I know there are many people who don't do their makeup without using one beforehand. I tend to believe that proper skincare and a well formulated moisturizer are more than adequate for priming the skin prior to makeup application.
That being said, as someone who has sensitive skin and enjoys many of Cover FX's products, I was intrigued! This primer has a great list of ingredients, including antioxidants, calming oils and extracts, and anti-inflammatory agents (I would still recommend using a lightweight moisturizer or face oil underneath). It definitely gives the skin a very smooth feel, but doesn't feel as suffocating as many silicone-filled primers. While I don't use this on a daily basis, I do find it makes my foundation look more seamless when I do, so I use it mostly for special occasions.
If you are a primer user with sensitive skin, or are on the hunt for a primer with beneficial ingredients, I highly recommend this one!
Silky Perfection
I purchased this after trying and falling in love with the Aqua Foundation, and I couldn't be happier! Koh Gen Do has quickly become one of my go-to brands for base products.
This formula is exceptionally soft and melts into the skin upon contact; no powdery residue here! I find it offers sheer to light coverage, which is perfect for setting makeup and touch ups throughout the day.
Shade 213 is excellent for camouflaging redness as it has a strong yellow-beige undertone. For reference, I'm a MAC NC25-30 with neutral/golden undertones, and I find 213 does a superb job at evening out my skintone.
Perfect Multitasker
It goes without saying that the Wayne Goss brushes are of excellent quality and ridiculously soft, but brush 13 is a true standout. The fact that you can do your entire face with this one brush is a testament to how amazing it is! It applies liquid and powder foundations beautifully, and makes bronzer and blush application seem effortless.
If you only get one brush from Wayne's collection, make it this one!
WHERE HAS THIS BEEN ALL MY LIFE?!
After about a month of research and staring at swatches online, I finally bit the bullet and ordered shade 213. Oh man... I wish I would have bought it sooner! I'm a bit of a foundation/tinted moisturizer junkie, but the Maifanshi Aqua Foundation has completely satisfied my fix. The formula is very watery and feels like absolutely nothing on my sensitive combination skin. I find it sets to a beautifully radiant satin matte finish that doesn't accentuate my oily t-zone, and actually makes my skin look BETTER after hours of wear. I find 1 and a half pumps gives me a true medium coverage.
I've worn this foundation to work everyday for the past week, and find it works very well over my SPF 30 moisturizer. I've tested it with and without setting powder and find it works well both ways; though I would recommend using powder very sparingly so as to not diminish the beautiful glow this gives to the skin. I apply this foundation at 7am and it still looks beautiful by the time I get home at 6pm.
I was originally torn between shades 123 and 213, and I'm glad I went with 213. It's a yellow-based beige that perfectly evens out my NC25-30 skin. Being that it's summer at the moment, I'm more towards NC30 and 213 is just a tad light, but I find a little bronzer fixes that.
If you've been on the fence about this foundation, please do yourself a favor a try it! I promise you won't be disappointed!
