Waited too long to have this
I don't know WHY I took so long to buy this brush. The shape, density is seriously amazing and does a great job at blending out your foundation and then your powders. I use this right after I apply my setting powders to buff out lines and just create a skin like finish. I then use it again after my bronzers, blushes and highlighter so that my makeup looks cohesive. The GSN line is actually my fave line from Chikuhodo despite the Z-Series being "softer". I prefer the pickup and deposit ratio of goat hair & goat hair blends.
Not just your regular toner
Toners are one of those things....I know they're important in skincare routine and I know i should be using a good one but I've never found one that wowed me. They kinda all just did their job. Nothing awesome, nothing too bad. I was using Nuxe's Rose Water toner before Mila (if you're into French Skincare you might be familiar with it..) and it never bothered my skin so I just kept buying it. I was using it for years. I have a pretty large stash of it under my bathroom sink. It just became a staple and I stopped thinking about the "importance of toners". Well, since I was revamping my skincare routine and upgrading it all to Mila products I thought it would be time to try her Cleansing Toner. I honestly did not expect to love it or be blown away but OMG! It really does firm and plump up your skin. It adds life back into my skin after a long day and it depuffs my skin when I wake up. I even got my husband to start using it and he's been asking if I would be buying more! Now...what do I do with all my Nuxe Rose Waters?!
my skin has never been better
I've been using Mila's line for a little over 2 months. I was consistently using The Firming Cream after cleansing & toning but my skin was still dry since the weather here has gotten cooler. I needed something a bit more moisturizing but not heavy since I have sensitive skin. I started to mix this with the Firming Cream and it's the perfect cocktail for refreshed, youthful skin. The #1 thing I love about Mila's line is that everything absorbs fast. This is important because the less time product spends just "sitting" on top of your skin, the more effective it is since your skin is now using it to it's full potential. As I said, my skin is sensitive but it's also on the drier side, thin and generally it take a LONG TIME for any product to absorb. Always impressed with Mila.
Fave Lip Palette
I have high standards for my reds. I don't really judge the brand - I simply love reds that are opaque, not drying and has a beautiful texture/finish. This palette lives up to my standards! I usually stay away from palettes because I find them difficult to carry in my purse. Many of them are designed for makeup artist use in mind so they don't have a mirror on it nor they they look pretty. While, I still love my MAC, BESAME and MAKEUP ATELIER red lip palettes, I rarely use them as I can't be bothered to carry lip brush + palette + additional mirror just to touch up my lips. This BY TERRY one makes it a joy to touch up as the brush (which is actually really good - ask anyone I usually throw away palette brushes!) and mirror are right there. The texture is smooth, consistent, opaque for the mattes. I would call these more of a satin or demi-matte after it dries. We're so used to the super mattes out there now, I feel like we're losing track of what a classic, red matte used to be. It still has life and dimension. The glosses aren't usually my thing but I was pleasantly surprised I could layer it on top of the mattes and it created a lip with sheen but isn't sticky. I tend to use gloss on top for night time and each matte shade corresponds nicely with the gloss directly below it quite nicely.
makes my skin actually act younger
I'm not looking to reverse the signs of aging..instead I am looking to maintain healthy skin that looks like it's pampered for and taken care of. I've used a few other "high end" lines of skin care before with minimal success or difference. While Mila's products are amazing, you really need to give it time to work. My skin looks more refreshed, clearer and the texture is smoother with this cream. I have very thin skin and I feel like this cream has been able to densify it somehow so my skin has more elasticity. The real sign is after a full day of work and maybe a night out, my skin definitely looks it's age but lately I haven't been seeing that at all! I use this on top of the Dual Action Serum but I only apply it to my cheeks and neck as I find that's really where I need it the most. The Dual Action Serum is applied all over. This is something I would continue to use for years to come until I need something a bit more potent or heavier!
Fastest way to flawless skin
I've been trying to cut down on my "get ready" time in the morning and although I love my skin to look done, I found that doing a full foundation with liquid just took up a major part of my routine. I apply this over my Glossier Skin Tint. It gives me the perfect complexion for a work day. I have also used it to set my Koh Gen Do Aqua Foundation before and that REALLY gives an amazing finish. It's fool-proof.
MUA must have!
Finally! My fave palettes are on sale on Beautylish. I started practicing makeup with Viseart and RCMA makeup and they are always always staples in my kit. The Neutral Matte palette in my kit has been on set with me for fashion shoots, editorials, spfx films, theater and of course bridal. I've gone through 2 of these palettes as I depended on them greatly. They transition so easily into other makeup and can be worn on their own. My faves for my vanity are Dark Mattes and Sultry Muse at the moment. They work beautifully to amplify color & texture.
For those night owls....
For those mornings after a late night + junk food. Seriously, the best way to combat puffy skin that isn't sleeping another 8 hours (who has that luxury?) The ice cube serum is a new concept to me but something I was excited to try. My first expectation was that it was going to be a mess but since it's serum it actually melted evenly enough for it for my skin to absorb it. I did this after cleansing and toning and allowed 5-7 minutes for it to completely dry before continuing on with my cream. It made a huge difference for makeup application as my skin was brighter and more refined. I would use this every morning if I could! I've started using it about twice a week (Mondays and Fridays as those are the days I am most tired) and before I go out at night on a weekend night. Definitely would stock up on these if I run low =)
Unexpected Concealer blending brush!
So....I don't use this for my eye makeup at all. It's simply too large but because it's SO soft and domed it makes a beautiful concealer blending brush. I specifically use this one for any undereye concealer as it's so gentle and non-irritating for that part of my skin. It's density and shape and size makes it great for the undereye area. Think of it as a tiny tiny stippling brush for your undereye or even around the nose and lips. It seems like a lot of people have discovered the same use for it. I would definitely buy another for backup.
Super Matte Liner!
One of the hardest things to find is a true matte, true black liquid liner. Everything leaves a bit of sheen or ends up looking chalky. This is a beautiful matte, similar to how an original kohl liner looks on the skin but without the tendency to smear/smudge. I've been using this liner for a couple years and I always come back to it after trying others.
