Beauty Product Reviews

An interesting innovation.

I bought this product on a whim, just to see what's new at the drugstore. I usually stick to mineral powders for my foundation because it covers my acne better and I get extremely oily extremely fast. I thought the mousse idea was interesting and new. I applied it with my fingers and with a blending sponge. At first, I was unimpressed because the coverage was extremely light and sheer. Once the mousse touches the skin it turns into liquid, just like hair mousse would. I'm not used to what I called "wet" foundations and blending and layering because my Bareminerals covers easily and without much layering. But for this foundation I needed to layer to get coverage. Luckily it blended well and didn't feel heavy. It took a while to do, but the end result was pretty good and more natural looking. But I have to put powder over liquids when I do use them, or else I'll feel like my foundation isn't "sealed," haha. It gave me a different look than usual, I liked it. But it took too long for me, so I'll only use it when I have lots of time to get ready. It also didn't help with oiliness for me, but honestly, my skin is so oily that no makeup I've ever tried in 7 years has truly helped keep the oil at bay. So I do recommend it to others, especially if you don't want heavy coverage :) oh, I had the lightest (ivory) shade, and it was still a tadddd too dark for me. But it looked fine. And I also used the Dreamtouch concealer along with this foundation!

It was different :)

I saw this product while shopping at Target; I always check out the new make-up on display and love new innovations. Usually drugstore brands either disappoint me to the maximum, OR end up being a very pleasant surprise. The shape and texture of the blush looked interesting, as well as the shades. I bought Hot Tamale because it was one of the only ones left and I usually don't get reddish colors. Before I even opened the product, I watched DulceCandy87's Rite Aid haul video that happened to feature almost all of the new products I'd bought, haha. I was impressed with the blush when she talked about the texture. I expected it to be really pigmented but she said it was actually sheer. When I tried it for myself, I loved the unique texture. It felt like a pillow, powdery yet creamy at the same time. I used my fingers to apply, and it blended surprisingly well. I usually only use powder blushers, but this was impressive. I can see why Dulce said it was sheer, but in the bold shade I had, it actually gave me great pigment when swiping it on a couple of times. A really fresh, bright pop of color. Again, it may have been because I had the brightest red shade. After blending it felt like a really soft powder, almost non-existent. All in all, I was impressed! :)
