Tom Ford’s Extrême Collection is a Glitter Lover’s Dream

Leave it to Tom Ford to buck the usual summer trends (naturally glowy skin, no-makeup makeup, etc.) and release a collection that’s all kinds of extra. The limited edition Extrême collection is big on glitter, glitz, and extreme levels of shine.

The cornerstone of the collection is the new Shadow Extrême, which comes in a range of colors and two finishes: micronized glitter for a sparkling finish or foil for a shiny, molten-metal finish. They’re powder eye shadows, but they’re formulated with waterproof polymers so that they glide onto the lid and resist running or smudging all day and night (feel free to cry tears of joy!).

Like most glitter and metallic shadows, we suggest gently patting the shadow on your lid with your fingers for a glitter-concentrated smoky eye. You can also take a pencil brush and apply to your eye’s inner and outer corners to create dimension.

The collection also includes Lip Lacquer Extrême, a new lip lacquer with a fade-resistant formula and an iridescent, brushed-chrome finish. We’re obsessed with unique texture—it feels creamy upon application but quickly dries down like a liquid lipstick. One of our absolute favorite shades is Loveless, which combines icy lavender with soft magenta for a pearly, two-toned color.

We recommend blending two of your favorite shades to create an ombré lip look. Start by coating your lips with the first color and then pat the second color in the center of your pout. Pair with with your favorite Shadow Extrême for a look that will definitely turn some heads.
