Recreate Hocus Pocus Makeup and Hair Looks This Halloween

It seems like the Sanderson Sisters have truly been gone for 300 years, but now the iconic “chicks” are back to put a spell on you. Hocus Pocus 2 is streaming just in time for spooky season, so it’s only fitting that you transform into the “three kindly, old spinster ladies” this Halloween. Without further ado, here’s a marvelous re-introduction for Winifred, Sarah, and Mary’s classic makeup and hair looks.

Winifred Sanderson

The eldest, wisest, and most humorously evil ringleader of the trio, played by Bette Midler, is characterized by her exaggerated blush, nonexistent brows, pouty oxblood lips, and fiery curls. Hide your brows with concealer, then dust on loose setting powder to lock in Winifred’s no-brow brow look.

Using a flat top blush brush, stamp on a heavy handed amount of coral-hued color to the center of your cheeks. Finish off the makeup look with feathery falsies and deep red lipstick applied only to the center of your lips. Naturally curly hair? Define it with curl cream. If not, create small coils with a small barrelled iron. Gather hair in two high, messy buns. Dost thou comprehend?

Mary Sanderson

The clumsy, comedic, and sensible witch, played by Kathy Najimy, is known for her keen sense of smell and slanted, red lip. Winifred’s right-hand sister also sports a gravity defying hairstyle that calls to mind a classic witch hat. Craft something similar by gathering hair into a high ponytail (be sure to leave out face-framing tendrils) and wrapping strands to form an elongated bun. Make sure you’ve created some added height, and seal in the look with strong hold gel.

Mary keeps makeup light with brown liner and soft lashes. Add a pop of color with coral pink blush and timeless, deep red lips. Don’t forget to paint Mary’s signature beauty mark near the right side of her nose.

Sarah Sanderson

As the flirtiest witch of the group, Sarah, played by Sarah Jessica Parker, is known for her airheaded ways, hypnotizing singing voice, and easily distracted behavior. This Sanderson Sister dons a strong smoky eye, heavy liner, and dark defined brows. Unlike her siblings, Sarah skips blush and opts for a deep brownish-red lip look. Using your liner, don’t forget to add a beauty mark on the right side of your chin.

Create Sarah’s signature, wavy blonde locks with a 0.75’’ curling iron. Then, spritz on a surf spray to add extra volume, texture, and hold.
