Sisley-Paris Artist in Residence Robin Black Shares 3 Signature Makeup Looks

2

This past year, Sisley-Paris named celebrity makeup artist and photographer Robin Black as the brand’s Artist in Residence. Her colorful, rule-free approach to beauty continues to paint the town Tango (Robin’s favorite shade of red created by Sisley-Paris).

We caught up with Robin to discuss her top beauty tips, favorite Sisley products, and three signature makeup looks.

The main piece of beauty advice that guides her work? Experiment, explore, and have fun with color. And if color isn’t your thing, Robin has a few helpful tips.

“If you feel a bit shy about experimenting with color, try swapping one of your regular neutrals for a fun color, but keep your usual application style,” shared Black. “For example, if you always do a thin line along your upper lash line in taupe, try that same line, but in a bold color.”

She added, “Makeup is the least risky thing you will ever experiment with. Don’t like that purple liner after all? Just wipe it off! Be brave and you might just discover that bright red lipstick is exactly right for you.”

Speaking of red lipstick, Robin has a go-to hue that’s been a staple in her arsenal for almost a decade. It’s the Phyto-Lip Twist Matte #18 in Tango.

“I can’t count the amount of tubes I have gone through, but there is always one tucked in my bag, on my vanity, in my studio, in the glove box of my car, and on my desk,” said Black. “Nothing makes me feel ready to tackle the world like the perfect red lip.”

Her additional Sisley-Paris favorites include So Intense Mascara and Phyto-Cernes Éclat Concealer.

In 2023, she incorporated both of these eye staples and her love of color into three, easy-to-follow makeup tutorials.

“I tend to work very spontaneously. The model is always part of creating the look, their unique beauty, personality, and style merge with other inspirations, such as a color I am feeling particularly drawn to,” Black expressed.

“Sisley is an amazing partner because their DNA is deeply rooted in artistry and they understand the creative process.”

Read on to recreate these timeless, full-face looks throughout the new year and beyond.

Look 1: Everyday Soft Glam

  5. Le Phyto-Blush in Rosewood gives skin a dusty rose flush enriched with botanical oils for a lightweight, comfortable veil of color.

  6. Using a dense eye shadow brush, pack Les Phyto-Ombres Eyeshadow in Silky French Blue onto your lids and along your lower lash line for a 3D metallic stare.

  7. Add an extra pop of blue to your lashes with So Stretch Mascara in Deep Blue.
