Join Forces With Your Fave Beauty Brands Against Climate Change
Published Sep 29, 2021
You may have recently seen your social feed flooded with the same red graphic reading “This is a #CodeRed4Climate”. ICYMI or didn’t get a chance to dig in to it yet, more than 100 major beauty brands—ranging from skincare and makeup to haircare and wellness—hit pause on their marketing efforts on September 21 to talk climate change instead. As part of Climate Change Week, they took the opportunity to get the attention of their audience—and hopefully Congress, too.
This collective of 100+ beauty brands united to share their pledge of continued climate change, posted an open letter to congress in support of climate policy across their social media channels and websites, and urged their community to call federal representatives.
So, what’s the end goal? To support critical climate solutions in four key ways:
-
A Clean Electricity Payment Program that cuts emissions and modernizes our grid
-
Directing 40% of funding to frontline communities
-
Ending subsidies for fossil fuel corporations
-
A Civilian Climate Corps that puts people to work
Participating brands include Briogeo, Farmacy, Herbivore, ILIA, Kjaer Weis, Moon Juice, Saint Jane Beauty, SELFMADE, Sol de Janeiro, True Botanicals, UOMA Beauty, Vintner’s Daughter, and so so many more!
