8 Beauty Influencers Who Rock Their Real Skin Texture

As a beauty editor, I come across some trends that I love (fluffy brows, dewy skin), trends that I dislike (tooth gems), and some that I just don’t understand (glittery lip gloss… sorry, guys, I tried). Here’s one that I’m 1000% into: Beauty influencers skipping Photoshop and embracing their natural skin texture. Because we all have pores! And lines! And peach fuzz! And divots and bumps and scars, whether they’re from breakouts, sun damage, or that time you ran into a glass coffee table when you were six. These are all completely normal (and beautiful) signs that you’re a human with skin.

To be clear, there’s nothing wrong with filtering your selfies. But when you’re exposed to a specific beauty ideal—in this case, skin that’s digitally altered to look smooth and poreless—over and over again, everything outside of that narrow definition of beauty starts to seem un-beautiful. And that’s not good—not for my self-esteem, or yours, or for the pursuit of a world where beauty of all kinds is celebrated. So up ahead, I rounded up some beauty influencers that rock their unfiltered skin texture so you can fill your Instagram feed with #skinpositivity.
