Get App-y: We Try Inglot’s Virtual Makeover App

Here at Beautylish, we know a good app when we see one. So when Inglot decided to get in the smartphone game, we jumped at the chance to test drive the brand’s just-launched app, available free for both the iPad and iPhone.

Inglot Virtual Makeover is an easy and interactive way to try before you buy. After uploading a photo of your face, you fit a series of coordinate dots to your features using the “adjust” menu for a custom-matched virtual makeup application. The app lets you play with a wide range of signature Inglot products, including blushes, lipsticks, and eye shadows. Using a sidebar menu, you simply pick shades and start experimenting on lips, eyes, and beyond, transforming yourself from subtle to extreme and back again with just a few taps.

The variety of colors allows for an unlimited amount of wacky and fun looks. We had a blast trying out some Inglot colors we’d been curious about, and matching them with products we already know and love. We also discovered that after finishing a makeup job we could return to the “adjust” menu and expand or retract the set coordinates to change the shape of our shadow and lipstick jobs. Instant drag-esque makeup was the impressive and hilarious result!

With the “adjust” menu feature, you can also choose exactly where to apply the makeup, while sliders underneath allow you to make the application as light or as exaggerated as you want.** **

A window on the right side of the screen keeps track of the products you are digi-wearing and gives you the option of adding them to a web cart. Alternately, you can save your makeover in a personal gallery, along with a tidy list of the products you used, so that you have no excuse to neglect your real face for your virtual one.
