Lip Product Combos We Can’t Live Without
Published Jul 24, 2013
Everyone at Beautylish is absolutely obsessed with color on lips. And if you’re like us, you know that it’s fun to mix and layer lippies to get a more personalized (or long-lasting!) look. Below, we share some combos of our own devising.** **
Rita Hayworth Orange
Bite Beauty Line & Define + Anna Sui Lipstick #601 + Make Up For Ever Matte Lip
“Anna Sui Lipstick in 601 is a classic burnt orange. And while the texture feels great on the lips, it doesn't last as long as I'd like. Paired with the Bite Beauty liner and MUFE’s lip sealer, you get a perfect Rita Hayworth-esque pout that can last through lunch.”

Pop of Coral
RMS Beauty Lip2Cheek in Smile + bareMinerals Marvelous Moxie Lip Liner in Energized
“Even though I am a beauty editor by trade, I can be a little (okay, a lot) boring when it comes to incorporating color. Dig through my stash and you’d find a billion different versions of red or dark pink lip things, and that’s about it. When I discovered this happy, slightly sheer coral from RMS, it was a game-changer. The bareMinerals liner cleans up the edges, keeps it in place, complements and intensifies the shade. The combo could work on anyone, but it’s especially good for deep olive skin tones like mine—it really brightens up my face. The result is decidedly modern and also much more interesting and eye-catching than my usual reds.

Stay-Put Vibrant Red
Too Faced Lip Insurance Lip Primer + Duwop Reverse Lip Liner + Inglot Lipstick #126
“The reverse lip liner keeps the edges of any dark lippie from feathering, and the primer keeps the color strong, even in the middle where it tends to wear off after eating. I know if I have the two together, I don't have to check the mirror every five minutes to make sure my color’s still there. Inglot Lipstick in 126 is such a great, vibrant red with a creamy texture. Other favorite colors are Smashbox Electric Pink Matte and Anna Sui Lip Rouge in any color.

Balm-Like Lipstick
Too Faced Borderline Lip Pencil + Anna Sui Lip Rouge #460
“So moisturizing that it feels like a balm, Anna Sui Lip Rouge in 460 also happens to be the perfect red. I use Too Faced Borderline to keep it from migrating and it stays put all night. But I can't say enough good things about the Anna Sui Lip Rouge. Because of the buildable formula, it's easy and forgiving to apply. I can practically put it on without a mirror. Love!”
