COUNTER CONFIDENTIAL
"Barefoot Beauty" by Undercover Beauty Agent
New York is filled with dirt and grime—that much is obvious. But one of the reasons I take pride in my beauty counter is because the staff is constantly cleaning throughout the day. It was only recently that I realized we don’t clean one part of our section as much as we should.
A lady was walking through the aisles of the store, looking for products. I asked if she needed any help, and she said she was just browsing. As I stepped away, I noticed the woman wasn’t wearing any shoes.
I had to do a double take because I couldn’t believe she was walking through the store barefoot. We mop our floors once a day, before closing for the night, and it’s pretty much disgusting until then. Walking around barefoot is not only insanely gross but also dangerous. The streets are filled with broken glass, cigarette butts, and litter. I can’t imagine all the horrors this woman probably stepped on with her bare feet.
We often neglect our feet (this customer sure did—she was pretty much begging for an infection!), but they’re just as important as your face and hands, so don’t forget to give them some TLC.
1 Dr. Scholl's For Her Rub Relief Stick
If you frequently wear heels, you’ve probably suffered a few blisters from your shoes rubbing in all the wrong places. Avoid the pain by gliding on this Relief Stick, which creates a barrier between your skin and shoes.
2 Bliss Foot Patrol
This exfoliating product contains salicylic acid to help get rid of dead skin. It also has a bit of peppermint to cool and soothe the feet. Ease away tension and stress with this scrub.
3 Earth Therapeutics Moisturizing Foot Socks
Wearing socks helps seal in moisture. This pair is specially designed to help your skin lock in the oils that keep your feet feeling soft and smooth. I like to wear mine while sleeping.
