Do You Need Eye Cream?

Wrinkles, sagging and fine lines can appear around your eyes seemingly overnight. But what do you do about them? New York-based dermatologist Dr. Dennis Gross (and founder of his eponymous skin care line) told us to start early. “Prevention is key and your 20’s is a good time to think about it," he says. "You should begin using products that contain antioxidants and other beneficial ingredients. I always tell my patients that like a car, it is best to practice good maintenance throughout the course of its life versus waiting until something goes wrong to try to fix it. Eye cream is a good product to invest in at this age. The skin around the eye area is prone to a phenomenon called solar elastosis—the breakdown of collagen and elasticity. Because skin in this area is so thin, you need a specially formulated cream that is both strong yet gentle,” explains Dr. Gross. We took a look at three eye creams to invest in to keep your peepers looking young and crow's feet-free.

1 Neutrogena Ageless Resoratives Antioxidant Eye Cream

This creamy formula goes on easily and actually feels like it's filling in your lines. A triple blend of antioxidants neutralizes 99% of free radicals that can occur from sun, stress, and age.

2 Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair

You might have to save up for this one, but the silky serum really does minimize fine lines and puffy eyes. Use it sparingly and make sure to tap the serum around your eyes for the full effect.

Olay Regenerist Eye Lifting Serum

Unlike other eye creams that are specifically for night, this serum can be applied morning and night, which makes you feel like you're getting plenty of extra benefits. It contains a concentrated form of amino-peptide and B3 complex to reduce fine lines and wrinkles.
