PARIS FASHION WEEK S/S 2012

For his first show, Kanye West delivered a collection that was sexy, modern, and tailored. For the makeup, he wanted to represent a "super-sophisticated, sexy woman," said makeup artist Val Garland. The look was simple and chic, with nothing too fancy or over the top.

To begin Val applied Studio Moisture Cream to hydrate and prepare skin. She then buffed Studio Sculpt SPF 15 Foundation into the skin using a 188 Small Duo Fibre Face Brush. To set the foundation, she applied Prep + Prime Transparent Finishing Powder and blended Mineralize Skinfinish Natural Foundation under cheekbones to contour with a 168 Large Angled Contour Brush. She then blended Shell Cream Color Base above cheekbones to highlight.

To achieve the cat eye, MAC Pro Black Crème Liner was applied above lashes and smudged through with 219 Pencil Brush. Val applied the liner once again to define the eye with a “flick”, dramatically curling upwards to lift and elongate. MAC 33 Lash were applied on the outer corners of the upper lashes and a slick of Coal Black Pro Lash Mascara was applied to define the lashes. Shell Cream Colour Base was applied through the inner corner of eyes to highlight. MAC Myth Lipstick was blended over the entire lip for a pale nude and Woo Me Kissable Lipcolour (available Spring/Summer 2012) was layered over Myth to finish the lips.
