Jean Paul Gaultier

PARIS FASHION WEEK S/S 2012

After guests were treated to glasses of champagne, the show began. The look at Jean Paul Gaultier was 1940s meets modern sculpture. “With Jean Paul I never see the collection ahead of time, so he showed me a picture of a woman from the 1940s with tons of tattoos and piercings which was the inspiration for the hair," said hairstylist Guido. "Some of the models will have temporary tattoos and some are covered in real ink. So, we needed a statement for the hair and created this very stylized, sculpted shape.”

Hair
  1. Apply Guts 10 Root Targeted Volume Spray Foam to damp hair and blow-dry away from the roots.

  2. Create a clean four-inch center part from the hairline back.

  3. Where that part ends, create a horizontal part on either side ending just behind the ears.  You will have three sections—two at the front and one at the back.

  4. Back section: come hair up away from the nape of the neck and secure into a clean knot at the crown of the head.

  5. Create two side sections: Using a hair pad ( six-inch cylinder shape pad), starting at the ends of the hair, roll the hair into the hair pad until you reach the crown, about two inches from the center part.  This creates a very distinct almost animal-like final shape.

  6. Finish with Forceful 23 Super Strength Spray.
