NEW YORK FASHION WEEK S/S 2012
Tara Subkoff resurrected her Imitation of Christ label for spring fashion week with a real wedding on the runway. Model, actress, and heiress Lydia Hearst actually married her fiancé in front of a captivated audience, surrounded by lush gossamer silk, lace, and rose petals.
MAKEUP
To accompany the romantic and playful atmosphere, Hourglass Artistic Director Gina Brooke created a timeless face that focused on flawless skin, vivid eyes, and pretty lips. "It's about clean, beautiful, and memorable makeup—it's a wedding, after all," she commented. Gina was inspired by classic film stars such as Elizabeth Taylor, Grace Kelly, and Catherine Deneuve, and let the lush fabrics and fairy-tale scenery tell the story of love.
To created a moisturized canvas for makeup, Gina first prepped the skin with Hourglass Primer Serum (out spring 2012). Then, she applied Hourglass Illusion Tinted Moisturizer with Hourglass No. 2 Foundation/Blush brush. Dark circles and blemishes were hidden with Hourglass Hidden Corrective Concealer.
Gina applied Hourglass Visionaire Eye Shadow Duo in Lagoon, Dune, or Prism to models' lids and blended with her fingers. She followed with a subtle application of Hourglass Script Precision Liner to enhance the lash line. She coated lashes with Hourglass Film Noir Mascara and Hourglass Film Noir Lash Lacquer.
Cheeks and lips were subtly flushed with Hourglass Aura Sheer Cheek Stain in Flush. Gina highlighted the skin with Hourglass Illume Créme-to-Powder Bronzer Duo in Bronze Light.
SKIN
The team from Skyn ICELAND prepped the models' skin before the show.
