NEW YORK FASHION WEEK S/S 2012
Futurism in the tropics marked the theme at Altuzarra for spring 2012. Stark black and white shapes in plastic and leathery finishes contrasted colorful, Hawaiian-inspired floral patterns. Sleek hair and graphic, darkened brows enhanced the sci-fi tendencies of the collection.
MAKEUP
Makeup artist Tom Pecheux took inspiration from Elizabeth Taylor, at the gym. Strong brows and nude skin let the graphic designs stand out on the runway. He applied MAC Select Cover Up Concealer, and pressed MAC Select Sheer/Loose Powder into the skin for a matte finish. He layered MAC Eye Kohl in Smolder and MAC Eye Shadow in Carbon on the brows with a MAC 266 brush. MAC Pro Gloss Texture was lightly applied over the eyelids with a MAC 252 brush for a dewy finish. Lips were hydrated and natural.
NAILS
Candice Manacchio was backstage with the CND team, shaping "Second Skin" manicures. She applied one coat of CND Colour in Puttylayered—a neutral nude—topped with CND Super Matte Top Coat to juxtapose dramatic, black eyebrows and stick-straight hair. These nails perfectly accessorize the tropical-tech runway.
