NEW YORK FASHION WEEK S/S 2011
Alexander Wang's spring 2012 look was biker chic meets downtown hip. Edgy motorcycle jackets and jumpsuits paired with mesh pants, velvety billowing fabrics, and color-blocked prints.
MAKEUP
Makeup artist Diane Kendal created an urban '90s look. She began by blending MAC Select Moisturecover Concealer over well-moisturized skin where needed. She then applied MAC Eye Kohl in Smolder along the upper lash line and blended inner and outer corners with a MAC 239 brush, leaving the middle of the eye lid bare. She smudged excess product on the brush through the lower lash line. She applied MAC Cremestick Liner in Black as a thin line through the upper lash line with a MAC 210 Brush. She applied MAC Pro Gloss Texture on the center of the lid for a grungy sheen. Lips were left hydrated and natural.
HAIR
Redken Creative Consultant Guido chose to create a textured, high-shine hairstyle that matched the effortless cool of the Alexander Wang's designs. "It’s got that ‘just out of the shower’ feel to it," said Guido. "I think it’s very chic to have a wet hair look when fully dressed in amazing clothes, especially Alexander Wang's."
To get the look, Guido first sectioned damp hair and applied Redken Full Frame 07 Protective Volumizing Mousse from roots to ends. He then created a messy center part and blow-dryed it roughly for a natural texture. Next, he coated hair in Redken's All Soft Argan-6 Multi-Care Oil for intense gloss and sheen.
