L.A.M.B.
NEW YORK FASHION WEEK S/S 2012
Gwen Stefani's L.A.M.B. spring 2012 collection is the designer personified in fashion. Graphic, edgy, and well-cut silhouettes were made for the modern rocker.
MAKEUP
"The beauty look at L.A.M.B. was inspired by a trip to India," said Maybelline Global Makeup Artist Charlotte Willer. "We focused on a dark, dramatically-lined eye—a modern take on kohl." Charlotte first eliminated shine and created natural coverage with Maybelline Fit Me! Powder. She swept a darker shade under the cheekbones for contour and definition. Next, she applied Maybelline Fit Me! Blush in Deep Rose to the apples of the cheeks. She exaggerated a winged eye with Maybelline Eye Studio Master Drama Cream Pencil in Midnight Master. The line was extended out toward the edge of the temple and in toward the inner corner of the eye. Charlotte framed the face with a straight, strong brow using Maybelline Define-A-Brow Eyebrow Pencil in Soft Black. She finished the eyes with Maybelline Volum' Express The Falsies Black Drama Mascara.
NAILS
"The nail look at L.A.M.B. was inspired by graphic ikat prints and Indian themes in the collection," said Essie manicurist, Elle. The team applied Essie Nail Polish in Bobbing for Baubles on models' nails and toes. "This new take on navy is very feminine and it really ties in all of the fabrics—it's a simple, yet provocative nail," said founder Essie Weingarten.
