MAKEUP JULIANNA MARGULIES AT THE 2011 MET BALL
“For Julianna the inspiration was classic beauty. I wanted to create something timeless that resonated with the off white dress by Narciso Rodriguez. To create a contrast with her porcelain skin and emphasize her hazel-green eyes I used a bronze/brown mixed with a deep plum to create a soft smoky eye.
“In order for the skin to have a luminous finish SK-II Skin Signature was used to prep the skin.
Prior to applying SK-II foundation, Hourglass Face Primer was applied in addition to using YSL Touche Eclat #2 and #3 just under the eye area to lighten and brighten. To create a soft smoky eye, I used a silver eye shadow with an iridescent purple hue, NARS Duo Eyeshadow in Bellisima. I started the color gradation at the inner corners of the eyes, graduating from lighter to the darker. NARS Duo Eyeshadow in Broussee was concentrated towards the outer corners of the eyes which lent definition and emphasized the green in her eyes. To enhance her lashes I used a black kohl pencil in between her top lashes and used a black liquid liner along the lash line to create more volume. To complete the look I applied MAC's Desert Rose on the apples of her cheeks and a pink lip in NARS Lipstick in Catfight.”
