Beauty Product Reviews
Say hello to my new love: the Sleek Original Palette! I just got this palette and the Storm palette and I’m impressed with the quality of both of them (but today I’m just going to show you the Original one). The colors are so beautiful, all of them have shimmer except for the black one that is matte and the pigmentation of all of them is great. The consistence is a little bit on the powdery side, but I didn’t have any fallouts when applying the colors. Although the size seems to be a lot smaller than a MAC eyeshadow, the Sleek eyeshadows have 1,1 g and the MAC 1,4, so there isn’t that much of a difference. I also really loved the packaging because it’s not cheap looking and it’s very compact. The palette has also a mirror so it’s great for travelling, you just need one palette and you have a lot of colors and a mirror. It came with a sponge applicator but I don’t use them and I took it away before I took the photos…sorry!
The price was 8,50 € for all the 12 eyeshadows, you can’t beat that price!
What I like the most about this concealer is the consistency: it’s somewhere between thick and fluid. That consistency makes the concealer perfect for any use. You can use it for under eye circles because it’s not too thick and it blends perfectly into your skin providing more coverage than a regular fluid concealer would. You can also use it for blemishes because it isn’t too fluid so it covers everything nicely.
The downside to this product is the price, it’s pretty expensive for a concealer. I have to say, though, that I have my tube for over a year now and I just used half of it because you use just a little bit of the concealer to cover a lot. So, you have to think what is more worth it: pay more money at first and don’t repurchase the product in a long time or buy a cheaper one that lasts less? My advice is to ask for a sample of this concealer to try it out and if you think it works for you can invest in it.
Well, I don’t think the coverage is as good as it’s supposed to be. It has a very high coverage in comparison to other concealers, that’s for sure, but it doesn’t hide tattoos (at least if you don’t want to spend the whole tube hehe). I would say it covers blemishes and beauty marcs nicely, but it doesn’t cover very dark spots (like a tattoo) at least in my case (very fair skin). I added a picture of my tattoo “covered” by the concealer.
Great!
Seche Vite is more dense than other top coats, so you have to apply a little bit more product as you usually would to get a perfect finish. It dries very fast, 1 minute approximately, no matter what nail polish you used under it. I tried out several nail polishes, among them ones I knew that dried slowly, and the drying time is always the same (how great is that?). The result is a glossy finish, not too shiny though. Something that I don’t like about this top coat is the smell of it when it’s in the bottle. It smells like…acrylic? I don’t know how to describe it, hehe, but it’s a strong smell. Anyway, it is not noticeable when the top coat is dry, so it’s not a big deal.
That said, I just can recommend Seche Vite to all of you, it’s the best top coat I’ve tried so far!
I hope this was helpful to you!
Recently I purchased this Sugarpill quad and single eye shadow. Sugarpill is a fairly new company that offers very bright and fun colors. In their online-shop you can not only find pressed eye shadows, you can also find very beautiful pigments.
I don’t know if this applies to all the countries or just to Spain, but the shipping was very fast (just one week) and the price is very good compared to other web shops.
The presentation was the cutest thing I’ve ever seen. It all came wrapped in pink paper, with stickers and cards. Amy, Sugarpill’s owner, wrote herself a little “thank you” on the billing. I really like those kind of details. The packaging of the products is very fun and I’m keeping the packaging just because I find it soo pretty. I think Sugarpill’s design is so cool.
As you can see on the picture, Poison Plum has a little less color payoff than the rest. Afterparty is the most pigmented of all of them. Tako is also one of the best matte white eye shadow I have ever used. Be careful with Bulletproof because it blends better than other blacks and you could easily get an all-black eye when applying your makeup. One thing to mention is that they stain a little bit, but after washing it off, there shouldn’t be any color left.
