A+
Liquif Eye is better than any drugstore liners (that I have tried), in that it is super soft and creamy. No going over and over again to make it darker. It deposits lots of product with just a light touch. It's easy-to-glide-on (no tugging). It's blacker and smoother than UD 24/7 (Zero). My eyelids are not oily, and I use top quality eye primers so I do see that smudging is very minimal. I love it's long-wearing power. For the price, you can't beat it. It's really an all-around fantastic eyeliner... period.
Instantly Seductive
Firstly the bottle... it is incredibly stunning. It bears the refined Prada logo in gold lettering. The pump is perched on a golden neck like a shiny black half moon. (I love beautiful perfume bottles.) Now onto the scent. Candy has notes of musk, vanilla, caramel and benzoin. This scent is perfect for gloomy autumn and winter days. On me, the scent lasts most of the work day (if not the entire day). I have only owned it for a few weeks, but every time I have used it... someone has complimented me or asked me what I was wearing.
Great Buy
I purchased this on a whim the other day. I was standing in line... saw it, and I remembered all the great reviews this has had. This balm did wonders for my lips. I used it for 3 days and they are no longer chapped. They are moisturized more then any other balms have done before. For the price ($3.50) I couldnt ask for more. The only downfall (which is not a big deal) is the size. I love that it is egg shaped... but it takes up alot of space in my purse. It's not something that I can stick in your pocket.
Beautiful Sweet Smell
The smell is tantalizing. It has a woody and fruity floral smell to it. It has meshing notes of freesia, apple blossom and raspberry with vanilla, sun drenched honeysuckle and white hibiscus. I knew I needed to own it right then and there. I only picked up the small roll-on bottle for now... but once that is up, I will be heading back to the store to buy the big bottle. The best part of the scent is that it lasts a very long time on me. I have a hard time finding scents that last longer then a few hours. This does it!!! Plus, I love Taylor Swift... bonus for me.
<3 it!
I received this as a gift around the holidays last year and I was totally excited. I heard rave reviews about Hope in a Jar... plus it was one of Oprah's Favorite Things. Now this was one of those face creams that I personally refused to spend the money on ($38.00 on 2 oz.) because I was scared I was going to fall in love with it. So instead one of my best friends decided she wanted to try it so she bought herself one, and me one at the same time.
Just like I thought... I LOVE THIS MOISTURIZER. It truly melts into your skin...just glides on and disappears like magic, leaving your skin comfortable, moisturized and luminous. This moisturizer is for all skin types, which I think is great! I think the smell is calming. It reminds me of a day at the spa. I have heard that some people are bothered by the scent, but not me.
The only down fall now is that when I run out of the 2 oz. jar that she bought me... I am going to have to purchase another one on my own. I am truly addicted to Philosophy's Hope in a Jar. I have been using this same jar for almost 1 year. I would say that I am a little more then 1/2 way through the jar. I use the moisturizer atleast once a day... sometimes twice, depending on how much my skin is craving it. Also... I tend to not use moisturizer in the summer months as much b/c it tends to make my face sweat (and I hate that).
I am taking away a 1/2 of a star because of the price. I do think it is a bit on the steep end for the little amount that you do get. But for anyone that actually does try it, I do think that you will be happy with the way your skin looks and feels. Sometimes you need to spend a little money on skin care products, to help make your makeup (expensive or inexpensive products) look their best on your skin, and to help your skin for the future.
Total Bust
Smashbox make up artists have apparently raved about this... saying that it's a photoshoot staple, and that it almost eliminates the need for concealer. Sadly, my friends, Photo Op was a total bust. If this eliminates the need for concealer for you, then you probably didn't need much concealing in the first place.
This slightly shimmery apricot-tinged liquid is far too thin and non-pigmented to do any good. What it does do, is add a slight gleam or reflectiveness to the under-eye area, but it doesn't really aid in the concealing. Because it does have a slight gleam I have used it as a highlighter at times. This product was not cheap ($18.00 for 0.24 oz.) so I am going to use it until its gone. I dont think that this is a product that I would necessarily recommend as a concealer, but if you are looking for something to add some gleam to your under-eye area... then maybe this is a good product.
Exfoliation Galore!!
Buffy is a body moisturizer and exfoliator in one. I must say that appreciation for this product is an acquired taste. This is not a soap. It doesnt lather or actually clean your body. It is meant to sloth off dead skin. Because this doesnt "clean" your skin, I use it after I use my soap.
Once you start to rub Buffy on your skin (lightly) you will feel the little scrub bits on your skin. Once you wash them away you will feel how soft your skin is... (soft as a babies butt, hehe). You will also notice that the shower water is beading on your skin. When you get out of the shower, lightly pat dry.
I love to exfoliate atleast once a week in the winter, if not more. Coming closer to the summer I do it more because I know that I will be showing more skin. I dont exfoliate in the summer because I dont want to get rid of whatever tan I did obtain. But once the colder months are approaching my skin is itching and I know that my skin is craving a good exfoliation. I will be pulling out my Buffy!!!
Cleanses well
I purchased "It's Raining Men" after so much hype on the internet. I love love love the scent of "Honey I Washed the Kids", Im just not a huge fan of bar soap. So I waited months for "Its Raining Men" shower gel to come back out on the shelves (since I missed it the last time it was out). I think the soap cleanses very well without drying out my skin, and HEY... that is what soap is supposed to do. But I dont think the scent is as strong as the barred soap "Honey I Washed the Kids". I was really hoping that the shower gel would smell as good while in the shower... and I was kinda hoping that it would last on my skin (even though I was told it wouldnt). The sales girl told me I could use the shower gel as a shampoo... and maybe even a little in the wash (so this way maybe the smell would cling to me). I have used it as a shampoo... but Im not a huge fan. I have color treated hair and I want my color to last (so I will stick w/ my color treated shampoo... haha). I have yet to use it in the wash b/c I am afraid the washer will over flow with bubbles (like something you would see in the movies). Overall LUSH has some really fantastic products... and the shower gel is on the top of my list. They just need to make a lotion and perfume that smell like honey and toffee-fudge... and I would purchase that in a second. I do think that they are a bit on the pricier side... but they are organic and "handmade" so they can charge that.
Great Airbrush System
I have been using this system for over 1 year now. This is the second airbrush system that I have purchased. The 1st one was Luminess air, and that one only lasted me 9-10 months. This one is so much better. I have only 2 complaints about this system. I have an older one... so the compressor is super loud (I have read and heard that the newer ones have compressors that are not nearly as loud). And the other complaint is that it constantly gets clogged (even though I do a normal cleaning daily and a deep clean every 2-3 weeks). But enough with the complaints... this system is AMAZING!! I only do my foundation routine with this, and sometimes I will do my blush/contour.
After much practice, I decided to use my own concealer then apply the airbrush foundation. I do not think that the airbrush machine covers my dark circles well enough. It takes me about 3-5 minutes to apply my entire face (depending on if I have blemishes to cover). I dont normally use a face primer with it, only on occasion. I will use a face power when I am doing my makeup for a night look, but not normally for work or a day look. Only at times will I use a setting spray... normally only for a night out on the town.
I use 2 different colors to match my skin tone... a total of 4 (maybe 5 drops). One of the greatest things about airbrushing is when your skin tone changes (with season), you just have to mix colors to reach your correct tone. You dont have to go out and buy new foundation. I own 2 colors and they work the entire year (just a different amount of drops for each... depending on the season).
I own a few colors for eye color... and I have played around with them. I personally like to play around with my eye colors and different makeup brands (that is where I have fun with my makeup)... so I do not use Dinair for that. I primarily use it for foundation. It was worth every penny. Another great thing is that you can use other brands of airbrush makeup, as long as the makeup is water-based. With the 1st machine that I owned... using another product would clog the machine. It just wasnt possible. I have heard that you can use OCC airbrush makeup... I just personally have not tried it yet. I want to try it, I just do not know what colors to order. Dinair assists you with your purchase ONLINE. You send a current picture that shows your skin tone, and they tell you what to buy. It doesnt get much better then that. And they were right on target with my color.
Amazing Top Coat
This is, by far, the best top coat I have ever purchased. It drys extremely fast. I dont use anything else. The only problems I see with it is that the polish tends to shrink up and the tip of your nail AND it gets super thick after a little while. I am constantly thinning it out. Even with those issues, I have yet to find anything else that works as well... so I deal with the problems.
