High Pigments - Velvety Matte Finish
Jeez, it was a little over 10 years ago when I first started following Shrinkle (Amy) - the mastermind behind Sugarpill - on various fashion communities on livejournal. At the time, wild vivid colors were so hard to come across. Ben Nye, and a few MAC colors were all the market really had to offer. I'm so glad that someone took the initiative to change this and create pigments that not only are bright but are vivid, long lasting and easy to blend. Every MUA needs all 3 palettes in their kit. I can't wait to see more!
Gentle And Effective For Supple, Smooth, Radiant Skin
I'll admit when I first started using Fresh's skincare it was because of their pretty frilly packaging. Looking further into the brand, I found it's a husband and wife - one master mind behind the ingredients and one designing the flowery elegant packaging. A match made in heaven. This is by far my favorite Fresh product. Made with real rose hips it is so gentle (I sometimes even wear it overnight) but effective in delivering hydration, suppleness and an overall glow to dry, dull looking skin. When wearing it overnight, I wake up, wash my face and find that my makeup just melts and looks dewy and radiant through the next day.
Hello Clear Skin!
I feel like this is my own secret weapon. Through my adolescence I had awful skin. Acne so bad it hurt. Before the BE blowup, my sister had taken me to a small apothecary shop in Berkeley CA to try this "new powder" she heard about. I was matched at that time as "Fair" and was shown how to "swirl, tap and buff". Looking back it seemed like my skin changed overnight.
Fast forward to years later and I still use this as my secret weapon to good skin with medium coverage. Because of the Titanium Dioxide and Mica, I don't use it on my clients as a makeup artist, so it feel like it's my secret weapon that I keep to myself. I honestly think this is the best thing to happen to every day makeup.
*Secret tip - if your pores seem larger (because the makeup sits on top of your skin), try using the Beauty Blender with it. It makes the makeup appear as smooth as can be with a nice glow.
Classic, Elegant and Divine...
The bottle is what first draws you to this fragrance - a classic look with a black tasseled atomizer - very "Dita". That being said, I'm always a bit hesitant when it comes to celebrity fragrances. I was pleasantly surprised when first smelling this fragrance. It smells more of a Chanel or Bvlgari fragrance and being an eau de parfum, I was even more surprised by the price (being so inexpensive without smelling "cheap"). The top notes are very powdery which after about 10 minutes wear into a very luxurious classic scent with lingering notes of rose, patchouli and pepper. It's not over the top but definitely sophisticated and classy.
I <3 Ole
I received this trio as gratis when working for Sephora. Initially with my sensitive skin, I was hesitant to try but then (this is for real) Ole came by my desk, handed me a cookie and told me I had beautiful skin. Now, for anyone who has seen Ole in interviews or even met him in person...the man has a certain something about him. Charismatic and passionate about his brand and spas. If my skin was in a "beautiful" state I would believe him...why would Ole lie to me??? (I truly think he couldn't ever tell a lie if he wanted to). So I gave it a shot. I'm a cautious person so I tried each one individually in case I had a reaction. But no - it was weeks later when I used all three as they are supposed to work - in harmony that the true magic happened. Ole, I love you.
All This And More...
Okay - so you've already read the description and you've probably heard all the benefits of omega fats and you see at the drug store that getting generic fish oil is 75% cheaper. I will tell you first hand that within 20 minutes of taking this supplement you actually FEEL good. Here's why - as you know from food, you always want to pay the extra few dollars for Wild Alaskan salmon versus the farmed version. Same goes for supplements. While a lot of drug store brands use anchovies and sardines (c'mon...this isn't grandpa's pizza order), some do in fact use farmed salmon. I'd rate those around a 3. But Dr. Perricone knows his stuff and he's not messing around. He's going to use top grade ingredients to make a top grade product. I recommend this for anyone looking to simply live a healthy lifestyle.
My Signature Shade
This is the perfect shade of red for any season - not too orange based, not too blue based but can brighten any look. It's matte without looking dry half way through the day. I would say you get a good 6 hour wear out of it. Even when it fades you get almost an ombre sheer stain look. Definitely on my top 5 cannot live without beauty products.
Mehhhh???
My vanity consists of everything from $180 Perricone Moisturizers, no joke - every single Kate Sommerville Moisturizer to survive the ever changing Bay Area weather to something I found for $14 in Japantown that had a high potency of retinol in it. When I started dating my boyfriend a little over 2 years ago I thought it was quite cute he even used a moisturizer. I would, of course try and persuade him to use something better for his skin but I've never been one to put down something before 1) trying it and 2) just because it's a drug store brand. Shoot, I've been using St. Ives Apricot Scrub since puberty! Nonetheless, it was a way to poke fun until I got my last pump of my Kate SPF Daily Moisturizer. It's that time of year in San Francisco when it can't decide if it wants to be 40 degrees or 80 degrees so my skin has also been freaking out. In a rush, I applied a bit of this after literally 2 years of giving the boy hints to try something "better". After 2 uses (yes, I still haven't replenished my own supply, shame on me) my skin feels soft, supple and the dry spots (randomly, my t-zone for me) have been exfoliated and are now feeling more on the normal side. The SPF is always good, however for myself I think I'd prefer something higher. I guess based on the negative reviews regarding the texture, adding more sunscreen would affect this. Overall, a very decent drugstore moisturizer that I take back saying so many negative things about.
Better than false lashes
I love this product - when it was first launched, I used it and thought when I washed my face that night that my lashes were falling out! I then realized it coats the lashes with tiny microfibers which not only creates the appearance of false lashes but surprisingly washes off easily with warm water without raccoon eyes.
