Hairspray for your face
So apparently, this is supposed to be the most technologically advanced makeup spray. It claims to have temperature control technology. Will cool your face when its hot, and hydrate when its cold and harsh. I dont know about all that, seeing as how little beads of sweat still appeared from underneath my makeup in the middle of June in the south, but its a darn good product!
This IS my favorite setting spray to use when i do bridal makeup though, bc it keeps my brides makeup looking fresh and locks it into place. Sort of the way you spray your hair-do into place for the day, you spray your makeup with setting spray to keep it looking like it did when you first put it on.
The bottle/box says to use 3 or 4 pumps , but i find that 2 is sufficient. The nozzle really is like no other on the market, and it delivers a nice wide spray that mists all over your face. No puny little spritzes with this product!
This orange reins superior!!!
As some of you know, one of the makeup trends for Spring/Summer 2011 is bright orange lipstick! The trend is true orange color, not that coral orange your grand mama wore! (trust me, i was a little turned off at first too)
I was feeling a little daring, so i decided to go to my local sephora and shop for an orange lipstick! YSL had some nice colors and though i absolutely love their lipsticks and the luciousness associated with them...i feel they have a tendency to slide off. I was turned on to Kat Von D's painted love lipstick in A go-go. As soon as i tried it on, i KNEW it was the one. The texture is like a hybrid of hydrating and sticky-long lasting...but is not drying in any kind of way. It definitely sticks to your lips and does not budge! It was also a good, true, bright orange that was in your face without being too shockingly neon! It seems to work for every skin tone as well, and it does not wash you out.
There was no need to use a seperate lip liner with this product either. I just lined my lips with a liner brush and then filled them in, all with the same lipstick. Worked amazingly!
If youre feeling daring, do like i did and pair this with Urban Decays 24/7 eyeliner in "electric" lined under your lower lash line and extended out. Its a fun and funky colorful pairing!
or, use it in place of red lipstick with simple nude eye with cat-eye winged liner, for something different!
The only downfall on this product...is there needs to be more variety of colors!
Also keep in mind that the colors go on much better than they look! They all LOOK sort of drab and blah, but they are absolutely beautiful on! I havent found a color yet that didnt look good on just about everyone!
Long lasting brow stain!
Its been a while since I have reviewed a product, but I just HAD to write about the MUFE waterproof brow corrector.
Great thing about this product, is that it seems to be superior to any brow powder, pencil, or brow mascara i have used in the 11 years ive been filling in my brows! Its advertised as being waterproof/sweatproof/long lasting, but in reality, not ENTIRELY. I find that yes, it does last a while, but if you start to sweat, it does get a little splotchy in places.
If youre like me and have a great brow shape, but "light" or sparse eyebrow hair, this product is for you. Its basically a lipstain for your eyebrows, but it doesnt tint the actual hair! It stains the skin under the eyebrow so you dont have to worry about it looking waxy or sticky on the hairs themselves. Its great if you need to extend your eyebrows towards the corners of your inner eye, as it was formulated to mimic the appearance of your natural brow hair. I find that using a lipliner brush or a thin, flat angled eyeliner brush to apply the product, i get a more natural look and i can actually make it look like little hairs!
You literally, only need a dot of it to do your entire brow. Like eyeshadow, start light and build your way up if you need more, as it is waterproof, its a hassle to remove and start all over.
Another tip is to use a fine tipped brow pencil with a brush at the end along with the brow stain. You want to use the pencil to create an outline for where you want your brows to start. just draw along the outside- DO NOT FILL IN!. While using the brow corrector, blend it with the eyebrow brush/spooley and voila! Perfect, natural looking eyebrows! :)
I included a picture of myself with this review so you can get an idea of how your brows will look with the product!
Long wearing, easy to use!
This is the perfect liquid liner! GREAT price, long lasting, easy to hold, and SUPER easy to use!
Alot of people stick with felt tips bc they are afraid of manuvering a brush, but this is practically FOOL PROOF! The tapered brush lets you control how thin or thick you want your line, and the formula allows it to practically glide on in one or two long swoops..No Tugging, no having to go back over your line 2 or 3 times to make it bold. It leaves a patent like finish and lasts FOREVER! No exageration on this...The first time I used it, I put it on in the morning, and when I woke up the next day (not condoning falling asleep with makeup on! but it happens) it was still on! and I thought "Holy crap...Ive NEVER had a liquid liner do that!" and I was hooked for LIFE!
This is BY FAR, THE Best liquid liner with a brush applicator!
Pretty, sheer color!
These lipsticks arent my most favorite, but theyre pretty good! They are sheer, yet creamy and moisturizing and have a yummie scent!
Dispite their silkyness, they do not wear off as quickly as you would think! I felt like I went through my tube pretty quickly though due to the fact it was so sheer that I had to really layer it to get the pretty pink I wanted! (and I also used this instead of a gloss bc it was the perfect pearly nude-pink!)
IMPRESSED!
I am beginning to wonder if NYX is the same formulation/ingredients as MAC just with a different name because so far this blush is super awesome! It packs great color and its really smooth, which took me by suprise! I felt like it had the same silkyness that MAC blushes do, and my first thought when putting it on was "psh...who needs mac! shooooot! NYX baby!" :)
It has staying power, did not fade 1 bit during the 6hours I wore it out. I have tan skin and the "pinky" shade was just enough to give my cheeks a pop, and paired beautifully with simple eyes and a magenta lip. I love how pigmented these blushes are, yet they dont over power the face.
not bad for $1
I picked this brush up at the last minute before I had to do makeup for a client, and was extremely skeptical, but knew I could make it work if it ended up sucking. Im familiar with ELF studio cosmetics, but not their tools.
This isnt a studio brush but its not bad! Its easy to clean and it didnt fall apart like I expected it to. Worked just as well as most. :)
AWESOME NARS DUPE!!! :)
Like most people, I love *Dupes*. They make me happy bc I love good deals..and I love sales too. This is like finding nars on sale for $3. I SWEAR on all things holy, its the exact same color as the Orgasm/Laguna combo! I felt so ripped off finding this after I justified spending money on the "Real thing"! haha. $3 vs $26 and you dont have to sacrifice quality or staying power...uhh yah, ill take the ELF! =P Especially bc I feel like it lasts longer too. When I use the NARS im constantly wondering where the heck my blush went.
This is my everyday blush/bronzer now and I get so many compliments saying that I just "glow" and that i look "Radiant". The "bronzer" is more of a contour color. I use it on the sides of my nose and hollow of my cheeks and jaw line. It blends nicely but if you layer too much youll wonder why your face looks like you smudged dirt on it. If you can just trust the pigment over the price, you'll be good! Dont go crazy thinking "Oh well this is cheap, let me really cake this on". ;)
Go on getcha DUPE on beautys!
Best affordable brand!
I love that NYX offers high quality, super pigmented, professional like eyeshadow at drugstore prices.
They have TONS of dupes for MAC colors, and I am a complete sucker for dupes. NYX is one of the only "drugstore" brands I will touch and thats bc they work like the more expensive thing.
I was looking for a bright green to match a pair of highheels for a halloween concert and I just could NOT find the right color. I asked the sales girl at ULTA if she knew of a good color and she took me right to NYX. I sort of turned my nose up at it and expected it to be another "cheap" brand because of the amazingly low price. She told me to wear it with a primer and I should be fine for one night. At the end of my night, and after quite a few coctails, I looked in the mirror and to my suprise my bright green and yellow NYX eyeshadow was STILL in tact, looking fresher and brighter than EVER!
I am very very pleased with the eyeshaddows and recommend them to everyone I know! I have even used them on clients and rave about how they kick the butt of MAC!
:)
MAGIC!
I am absolutely in LOVE with this face primer! It makes my heart light up, its so good!
Stila came up with a line of "one step" products that include foundation, one step lip/eye/cheek color, and a primer! They are PERFECT for busy girls with little to no time to do makeup. Ive been recommending these products to all my busy Momma friends and they adore them.
Colored primers are used to correct complexion problems. Green for redness, purple to brighten dull skin, even out yellowness/counteract discoloration & minimize the appearance of wrinkles, PINK to brighten, .. or you can just get a basic primer to prep skin for base. Stila created a primer that corrects everything in one pump! It takes the guess work out finding the right primer and corrects multiple complexion problems at once, hence- "Stila One Step Correct".
It comes out in what looks like ribbon candy. All the colors are swirled out when you pump the product out. It has a jelly like texture and glides over the face. You can actually FEEL it working. It tingles on your face as its tightening everything up.
It has changed my foundations. I feel more confident when I use this product bc I know Im glowing and looking completely flawless!
This product is an absolute must have and has improved my skin because Im creating a barrier between my skin and my foundation, so products dont get into my pores. I feel like you end up saving money in the long run because youre not spending as much on skin care products because you dont have as many problems if you use a primer. In the end, you end up spending less by getting just a few key products. This is going to help you stretch your face makeup because problems you normally try to "cover up" are corrected by an all in one primer. You basically dont have to work as hard correcting "flaws".
Definitely invest in this product! I PROMISE it is well worth it! If you dont believe me, go get a sample at Sephora. They will be more than happy to make you one, and you can see how awesomely fantasitcally genius this product is!
Good luck dolls!
