Must be doing it wrong

I have oily lids and a 'wandering hand' so I never wear eyeshadow. I thought my answer would be a primer! Unfortunately for me the primer left a dry flaky consistency on my lids, maybe that's how it's supposed to look or maybe Im 'doing it wrong' but either way it was not appealing to me. Im also picky when it comes to packaging and the tube was horrible! Every time I closed the tube tons of product squirted out from the sides and I mean a lot! So much product was wasted simply from trying to close the tube. Seriously wondering if I got a defective product. I am aware there is now a squeeze tube but the formula wasnt impressive anyway, complete fail in my eyes.
