Very drying
I bought this concealer on a whim, having already seen a few reviews. ( Some good, and some bad. )
I was very content with how it felt in store on my fingers... creamy. I figured this would be very creamy on my normal to dry skin and great as a quick fix before work in the mornings.
However, I began having doubts that same night as I was starting to see more and more negative reviews. I decided to speak for myself and test it out... I was instantly disappointed. Did the concealer provide Full coverage? No. Medium coverage would be a more proper description, although I am sure you can layer it. Is this concealer drying? Yes, it was indeed very drying to the mere point that I was disappointed. Sure I could do my handy trick of mixing some Argan Oil with it to provide a skin like finish, but at the early morning hours where I have very little time that just does not fly by with me. Would I use this for under eye circles? No, that sounds like a scary idea to me. Is the color section any good? No, the color selection, is quite in fact... all the same. The darkest palette is indeed the darkest, but when you compare palette #1 and #2 next to each other, there is little difference. I took this right back to the store and bought the full coverage concealer instead that comes in a tube.
Overclaims itself, but it is indeed illuminating.
This product essentially over-hypes itself. Is it good at illuminating? Yes, although there are more pleasing options available on the market. Can you mix or use this with foundations that are essentially dull or gray toned? It definitely brings my foundation to life. Can this be used alone as a BB Creme? I personally wouldn't really use this alone, unless you intend on looking very illuminating kind of like the packaging color. The claims are pure marketing jumbo... it claims to be beneficial in 10 different ways that simply does not show on this product.
1. 'Contains innovative micro spheres, which have been shown to hide skin imperfections and reduce wrinkle depth by up to 84%”.' Lol, no. This is far too sheer to even out your skin tone, and it accentuated some fine lines and dry patches I had. Definitely mix or dilute this with oil in order for it to apply nicely on dry skin.
2. “Enriched with Tripeptide-37, bamboo and pea extracts, which help diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.” Tripeptide is far too low on the ingredient list, meaning very little was probably used. Benefits of it is next to nothing.
3. ''Infused with antioxidants to combat free radical damage” See above statement.
4. ''broad spectrum to shield skin from UVA & UVB rays'' I personally don't trust SPF claims until its tested out accordingly.
5. ''hydrates and nourishes the skin'' This is not a cream, so do not depend on it. There's nothing nourishing about the formula either, I see fragrance which is not nourishing to the skin in any form and other irritants.
6. ''helps reduce pore size provides oil and blemish control'' See the above
7. ''features an exclusive complex, which helps reduce redness and skin irritation'' LOL x's 10. See the above.
8. ''Uses the smallest particle size of coated pigments for seamless, smooth coverage'' It's OK, nothing to really brag about.
9. ''illuminates and primes the skin for a radiant glow'' I'm not sure about 'priming', but it does indeed have a nice glow.
10. ''oil-free, paraben free, derm tested and ideal for all skin types''
Overall it's a average-decent product, but I would feel more comfortable paying $10.00 as I feel that's how much its worth, especially with all it's marketing shenanigans.
I have been using matte blacks & grays for my eyebrows. And lately I felt like the powder I was using, was a bit off looking. I wanted a nice crisp line which is a bit difficult to obtain with a shadow.. The hairs also looked a bit funny without a gel coating over it. I wanted a product that could do it all. I looked to Anastasia, but I did have a hard time finding this product. Luckily, I came across a brand new Sephora which carried almost all the colors. I snatched it right away since the 3 other Sephora's I have been to were sold out. This product does not budge, but it is creamy. I use very little, a light tap will suffice for me. I just lightly poke my angled liner brush into the jar. This product is quite pigmented, so I am sure it will last me a decade. The only con, which is a personal con.... the colors. They will be releasing new colors. However, if you have pitch black, or black blue hair, black black brows, or dark skin the Ebony shade may be too light. I do poke my brush in a matte black eyeshadow as well to give it a darker color.
Nice foundation but not too wowing.
This is a nice foundation, but not the best. It is a lovely hydrating foundation, which offers sheer to moderate coverage. This foundation offers enough coverage to hide faded acne marks, while doing it's job to even out the skin tone. If you have any moderate to severe skin discolorations or marks, I personally would not reach for this unless a concealer is used.
It does indeed process and appear like skin while having a nice glow to it. It looks very natural and is not heavy. I personally have not come across any issues with it being sticky... but I did wear it with a setting powder and a setting spray. I have to agree with Miss Jacqueline here. I feel that the price tag on this product is jumping the gun, and as someone who can read ingredients.. I disagree with Miss Daisy to some extent. You do have to invest to obtain skin safe ingredients especially for problematic skin, but I would not call this an investment for the skin. The price tag is a bit over the top. There are high end brands specifically formulated for problematic skin that are half the price tag, or less than half.
Great Oil!
This oil has great antioxidants, great skin-repairing ingredients, and also occurs naturally . I am hooked on this! Great stuff and does a good job with relieving irritation. New Skincare staple!
Incredibly soft
This brush was incredibly soft - it is most definitely a stippling brush. I had to check on my hand to make sure it was working because of how soft it felt- I thought it would not do anything for me! Love this brush!
Love this!
I bought this just in time! This came in the mail on my birthday, and I was sick and had chapped lips. So I used this ASAP as well as on my dry nose and it was amazing! I woke up the next day with no dried up nose and moisturized lips. Love this product! It has none of that irritating minty gunk that usually irritates my skin. One of my new favorites
Good drug store eyeliner
I use this for now and plan on purchasing Inglots gel liner. This is a pretty descent gel liner but that's all I can use it for. I have tried to use it for a smokey eye and it settled into my creases and didn't look so clean.
Depends on your take
After seeing how vibrant an eye primer could make eye shadow colors appear - I went on an eye primer hunt.
I spent quite some time swatching eye primers on my arm and then the same eyeshadow on each one. Once again I have dry skin so making an eyeshadow last is not my concern, color vibrancy is.
I went straight to too faced expecting to be comparable to all the others. It was not. It did not make the eyeshadow anymore vibrant and was the worst one in the store.
I guess if youre looking for staying power it might help. But if you're interested in making the color pop more you should definitely not look its way.
