A New Favorite
I LOVE THIS MASCARA! When I first opened it, the brush was terrifying. But, when I actually applied it to my lashes it worked like a dream. I just had to be careful because the brush is SO big, but that is what really gives my lashes the lift and the volume. Using it at the bow of the brush, I can really wiggle in the mascara at the root of my lashes which is what gives the appearance of volume. I think this mascara is more meant for people who have naturally slight lifted and curled lashes. I couldn't imagine having to try to use this mascara with straight thin lashes. It would be a disaster, so I don't believe it's meant for everyone.
I got this liner because my local Ulta was out of Maybelline's waterproof/smudgeproof cream liner pencil. I think that this is an ok liner. I say that it's ok because it's not waterproof, so it does not work well for the waterline. I also think the black could be a bit more pigmented. It works great for outlining a cat eye then filling it in with black shadow. I'm just not all that impressed with this product.
A Must Have!
I've had this set for almost 3 years now, it works wonders!! I think every girl who is somewhat serious about there makeup should have it. It has all the elements you need for a smokey eye look in one set. I love the shadow 1980s. When I apply it wet, it's this very pretty sterling silver type color. When applied dry and blended out, it's a very shimmery nude sandy brown type color. It's so versatile! The brush is very handy. Although the smudger end on mine is starting to shed terribly, but it's lived a long life for a brush in my opinion. I would by a new set just for the 1980s shadow and brush. The other colors are great, but I feel like you could find them anywhere.
I got a small palette for a gift. It has Latte, Off The Rack, Snap and The New Black in it. I wasn't very impressed with the black. After a while the shadow almost dried up in a way and it's hard to get any on my brush. I loved the pink and creme shade. The creme shade actually blends into my skintone so it makes for a great highlight. The shadows do last for a good amount of time. Overall, I think if it wasn't a gift, I wouldn't have gotten it. Lancome is very pricey.
I really like this gel. It's not heavy on my hair. I naturally have wavy hair. This product makes it a bit more curly and really keeps the shape of my waves. Once I locked down the right way of applying it to my hair (rubbing the gel all over my hand then into my hair) it doesn't leave sticky hard pieces as an after effect. It keeps everything very smooth and not plastic-y or brittle looking. When I use the hair spray with, it turns out even better. The only problem I have is that the hold can fade after about half way through the day. I'd recommend mixing it with something else.
Love Love Love
I think Johnson and Johnson's baby lotion works better than anything, well maybe except Aveeno. I love the smell of this one, the Vanilla and Oatmeal. This one and the Shea Butter one works great after shaving my legs. It leaves them fully moisturized and smoothed. They have nice soft scents that don't irritate my skin or senses. Most of all the lotions aren't expensive. They last a very long time too. They're big bottle probably lasts me an entire year. I can get it on sale at Target for about $8. That's a DEAL!
Liner or Color Pencil?
I bought one of the Nyx Eye Pencils in black and it is awful! I paid $3 for a color pencil for my eyes. It barely lines at all. I mainly bought it for my water line and it hardly leaves a mark. I had to press it on hard to get a light charcoal color instead of black. This liner in my opinion is not worth it at all, which is sad because I love Nyx products.
Not worth the money
I decided to try one of these out because I liked a particular color. I can't remember the name of it but it was a berry pink color. It was super pretty. But, the stain DID NOT stay on my lips for more than a couple hours. It acted like a regular lipstick. There is nothing special about this product at all. It even clumps a little when it starts to really fade.
Will it come off?
I used the waterproof LashBlast Mascara once and here's the reason why, it refused to come off! I would take a shower and scrub my face and eyes with cleanser and it did not come off. It's an extreme waterproof mascara. I think you'd need to get a special makeup remover for it. The quality was decent as far as the volume and thickness it gave. I did not like that if you weren't very precise that it would clump up easily. Other than that I'd say it's pretty good for a drugstore brand.
They have a wide variety of colors, which I like. Always have to have options. These lip glosses are very sticky. They are packed with color. I tried the strawberry and watermelon ones and they both gave my lips a pretty good kick of color, not just a sheer coat of gloss. I think the only issue I have with them is that they are so thick and sticky. You have to learn to put just the right amount on. They smell nice!
