I love Charlotte Tilbury products, but this was a disappointment. I have very dry, dehydrated, mature skin, so maybe this just isn't the best foundation for my skin type. It comes in a luxurious, frosted glass bottle with a rose gold lid and pump dispenser. It's a very thick foundation with medium, buildable coverage. It has a natural finish. On my skin it clung to dry patches, accentuated texture and pores, and settled into fine lines and wrinkles. It also tended to sit on top of my skin, looking heavy and cakey. This wasn't magic for me, but may be for someone else.
So soft
I LOVE all my Wayne Goss brushes. They are all ultra soft. It's a perfectly weighted and balanced brush with the most luxurious bristles. I use it to set my under eye concealer, apply highlighter, and buff in my finishing powder. This is a brilliant addition to my arsenal of brushes.
A real splurge, but so worth it
After ordering this I thought I'd finally lost my mind. This is SO expensive. But, it's also brilliant. I love that all May Lindstrom products are natural. It's a lovely blue colour and it smells lovely. The tiniest amount does the trick. I have sensitive, extremely dry, dehydrated, mature skin. This heals my skin, seals in moisture, alleviates dry, flaky patches, and just makes my skin feel nourished, moisturized, and deeply hydrated. If you have skin like mine and it's within your budget, try The Blue Cocoon.
Intense
This is a very intense, stimulating, deep cleansing, exfoliating mask. It's very expensive, but you get a LOT of uses out of one jar. I found that a tablespoon was too much. I use 1 - 2 tsps of the Problem Solver mixed with a little less water or apple cider vinegar. It smells wonderful and it's amazing how the powder turns into a fluffy mousse. It tingles quite intensely, but not painfully. When you're ready to wash it off, close your eyes tightly and gently massage off in circular motions to exfoliate. Leaves skin smooth, glowing, deeply cleansed, and revitalized.
Lovely mud mask
Although this can be used as a cleanser, I've only used it as a mask. It's a wonderful, luxurious, non-drying mud mask for dry skin. It has a silky texture and it smells delicious. And it deep cleans pores really well without leaving your skin feeling tight and dry.
Another innovative product from Cover FX
Cover FX does it right all the time, and the Custom Blot Drops are no exception. I use them as a primer on my T-Zone and pop the bottle in my handbag for on the go touch ups. They do such a great job of keeping my nose and forehead matte, that I've very seldom needed to touch up. They work just as well over makeup as they do under. Highly recommend!
Absolutely worth every penny!
I don't know why I waited so long to purchase the ABH Modern Renaissance Palette. The colours are so amazingly gorgeous. It's a decidedly warm neutral palette, but the neutrals are all quite unique. And then there are the stars of the palette - the rich pinks, reds, and paprikas. These shadows are very soft and buttery, and apply and blend out surprisingly well. And, the shades are richly pigmented and last a good 8 hours. Out of the 14 shades, only 2 are sparkly, with the rest being satin or matte. All the colours play beautifully together, so you can come up with endless warm looks, from very natural, to office appropriate, to evening event. My only (teeny tiny) complaint is the packaging. Although luxurious and beautiful, the velvety exterior gets grungy quickly. I'd repurchase in a heartbeat!
Lovely, but not blown away
After seeing so many glowing reviews for this foundation, I felt I owed it to myself to try it. I do like it, but there are other foundations that work better for me. I'm 54, with dry, very dehydrated skin. That being said, my skin looks and acts 10 - 15 years younger than it is, and I have an even skin tone with only the occasional blemish. Since I don't have much to cover up, I don't really require full coverage from a foundation, and this is full coverage, although it can be sheered out. Pros: SPF 50 from mineral sunblocks. Contains skincare ingredients. Sanitary tube packaging with a pump dispenser. Travel friendly packaging. Full coverage that can be sheered out Natural finish. Easy to apply with a sponge, brush, or fingers. Hydrating. Cons: Clings to and accentuates dry patches. Looks slightly obvious. Limited shade range. I will generally reserve this foundation for days spent outdoors to give me added sun protection.
I have 6 of the Jeffree Star Liquid Lipsticks. Androgy is my favourite.
The Jeffree Star Liquid Lipsticks are all highly pigmented, smooth, creamy, and easy to apply. I recommend applying one, thin layer to avoid clumping and flaking. The colour lasts all day, even through eating and drinking - unless you eat something oily or greasy. These lipsticks aren't as drying as most of the liquid lipsticks I'very tried, but they are still drying. It'seems advisable to make sure your lips are exfoliates and thoroughly hydrated prior to application. And keep a lip balm handy, as the dryness drives me nuts after about 3 hours.
Brilliant setting powder
As a mature woman, I have less than perfect skin. I have fine lines, wrinkles, and large pores. Add to that, my skin is dry and dehydrated. Bye Bye Pores blurs these imperfections beautifully. I use it to set my under eye concealer, the nose area, around my mouth, between my eyes, and my forehead. It blurs the lines under my eyes, around my mouth, and on my forehead, while making the pores on and around my nose vanish. I use only the smallest amount, so the little pot goes a very long way, and it doesn'the look heavy or cakey. It is very, very finely milled, and extremely silky. I recommend cutting the adhesive covering the holes, so that 1/3 of the holes are open, leaving 2/3 covered, otherwise you'll have powder floating everywhere, wasting product. I'very read comments that people are disappointed at how small the pot is for the price, so it is important to keep in mind that less is much more with this product.
