I don't use any other eye cream now!
I bought this cream almost 2 years ago (and it is just now running low!) because I was working a lot of overtime and not eating or sleeping healthy. I was starting to suffer from dark circles and early morning puffiness. I had never used an eye cream before and thought I'd go to MAC since I was getting all my makeup from them at the time (the mall was literally 2mins from my office). I told the rep my issues and she suggested the MAC Fast Response Eye Cream.
"The super-charged, caffeinated cream with instant effects. De-puffs, erases the look of dark circles, firms, soothes and softens skin around the eye. Special optics act like magic to fade away lines."
Although this was my first eye cream, I fell in love instantly! When I first used it, I used way too much - you only need a tiny bit - I applied it to my under eye area and began dotting it on lightly with my ring finger. The formula feels very silky when applying, and through out the day it keeps the skin smooth and hydrated. By night it was still very smooth and within a couple weeks of daily use, I noticed my dark circles were no longer dark. This product completely surprised me and has been a must-have in my routine ever since! I recommend this to people with dark circles, early morning puffiness, and sensitive skin.
Love this for days without nail polish
When I first tried this I was skeptical to think it could perform as it advertises to. I have tried many other products promising to strengthen, and just ended up disappointed. Seche Plus, in my experience, really did strengthen and protect my nails. I was able to grow them out to 3/4" long and the only reason why one broke was because I accidentally got it caught on something. Even after having my nails in water for long periods (showering, washing dishes, etc.) they were softer, but did not bend or break. You can also use this as a base under your favorite nail colors.
Better than any other base coat I've tried!
I have tried a LOT of base coats and have never been happy any of them, I actually stopped using base coats because they would alter my nail polish quality in a negative way. This is the first base coat that I've used that goes on smooth and stays smooth. It creates a perfect base for your nail polishes and it doesn't change the quality of your colors at all. I will never use any other base coat brands, I even threw out my other base coats and only use Seche now.
Men do like it - lasts long with no stiffness or flaking
I interviewed my BF for this review: It doesn't make my hair crusty when I use it, it's a more natural look. The smell straight from the bottle isn't the best, but after you apply it to your hair the strong smell goes away. I recommend the hair gel more because of the natural feel and look that it provides. I used to use LA Looks, but Burt's Bees Hair Gel is better because of the way it dries on your hair - it leaves your hair looking healthy and sharp, unlike other brands that leave crusty dry particles and makes your hair stiff. I like the packaging, it looks good. I like the finishing result of the hair gel. The prices are more expensive, but the quality is higher. The hair gel is definitely worth the price.
Men do like it, but might not buy it
I interviewed my BF for this review: It smells good and keeps my skin hydrated. You have to use a lot of it because it doesn't last on the luffa long enough to wash your whole body. It seems like I have to use more than I would with other soaps. I wouldn't exactly recommend the body wash because men don't talk about body wash and soaps. It's different and good, but I wouldn't say it's better than what you normally find in stores. I like the packaging, it looks good. I like the finishing result of the hair gel and the smell of the body wash. The body wash leaves you feeling clean. The prices are more expensive, but the quality is higher.
Decent pigmentation - great color selection!
While I was rummaging through my eyeshadows looking for inspiration for a new look, I found Covergirl's Eye enhancers 4-Kit Shadows in Tropical Fusion. I had bought this in 2008 for a summer look (which I wore a lot!) - then repurchased again in 2009 when it had run out. I thought this quad would be great for a few summer looks, and I actually got more out of it than I had expected. Not only did I use it for summer looks, but the blue and teal can be used in all seasons. You could also do a neutral look and add a fun color to your lower lash line to pump it up a little. I am going to do a few looks with this quad and post them later. I highly recommend this quad to people who like to add a little pop of color to their look.
Poor pigmentation, doesn't blend attractively
During the holiday sales, I purchased some inexpensive makeup online to try out. One of them being this Essence's Eyebrow Stylist Set from Ulta. It was only $2.79 and the description made it sound like a good find: This complete kit is perfect for styling your eyebrows. It contains two eyebrow powders, an applicator and three templates for perfect shape in an instant!
Reasons why I dislike this product: - The packaging does not stay closed - The plastic tray that the eyebrow shadows are in is flimsy and awkward to hold and use - The angled brush that comes with it is poor quality and not usable - I tossed it out - The 3 eyebrow templates that comes with it are cutouts of eyebrow shapes on plastic sheets that are shaped way too big and and not even in shapes that people would use - I tossed them out - The shadows are horrible, they are poorly pigmented - when I tried them out I was reapplying the colors so much that I just gave up. No matter how many times you dip into the pan, the color just doesn't transfer.
Honestly, for only $2.79, I wasn't expecting much, but I was hoping it'd be better than what I got. Even the reviews online said it was "good quality, cheap and it works" - very misleading! I kept this product just to do this review and am planning on throwing it out. I would say, this product is not for adults - but if you wanna buy it for your kid's play makeup kit, it'd be fun for them.
Great pigmentation, long lasting, inexpensive
I wanted to take a moment and share my love for Sephora's Nano Eye Liner Pencils. On top of the fact each lovely half-sized pencil is only $5 each, they are very pigmented and soft, I was actually surprised. I'm not a big fan of Sephora brand items, but I thought for only $5, why not try out these pencils. Plus the description online said they have Shea Butter and Rosemary extracts to apply smoothly. I really do like these, on the lid and the waterline they come out so smooth and vibrant, as well as easy to blend out as an eyeshadow base. I bought 4 shades and am dying to get more. I recommend these to all pencil eye liner fans - it's a great deal and a great product!
Great for sensitive skin!
If you know me, then you probably have heard me complaining about my skin - dry, itching, bumpy redness from itchiness, horrible cleansers burning my skin and making it dry out even more - just horrible horrible experiences! Well, during the Christmas shopping time last year, I took advantage of their special sale where you spend like $35 on products and get a baggy of samples for free. In that sample baggy was a mini tube of Murad's AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser, I tried my hardest to make it last as long as possible, and once it started running low, I jumped on Sephora's website ASAP and ordered it. I cannot explain how much I LOVE this product, it literally feels like you are rubbing silk into your face and the tiny Jojoba beads are luxuriously massaging! This is amazing, not only did I find a gentle cleanser that doesn't burn, but an exfoliating one too. And the smell is very fresh and calming also, not all perfume like some I've tried in the past. I always wash my face in the shower, and after I get out, my face does have that tight and dried out feeling - it feels hydrated and healthy. The website says additional features and ingredients are "Sodium PCA and Jojoba Seed Oil boost hydration" & "Licorice Extract reduces irritation and inflammation". Honestly, after using up the sample, my skin did look less dull and less bumpy. It looked very healthy and smooth and soft to the touch. I recommend this product and this brand to people looking for gentle cleansers, or those who don't have break outs and acne but just need a good cleanser.
If you love "pop of color" - this is your palette!
Honestly, I bought this shadow box specifically for Snatch and Painkiller, these colors are amazing and the other 4 colors are fantastic also. Below are swatches of the shadows, the shimmer that you see in the color in the pan transfers beautifully when applied to the eyes. I will also include swatches of the shadows on top of the Eyeshadow Primer Potion to show how the color changes with a base below it. I recommend this shadow box to people who are looking to ease their way into bolder shadows, this box has 3 great neutral shades and 3 bolder shades that can be easily used in moderation so they don't overwhelm your look.
