Hands Down the BEST Mascara... But...
I love trying new mascaras - mostly because I really dislike false eyelashes.
I love this mascara! I read a review in Allure and was fairly skeptical. I also thought the applicator was a gimmick.
OH MY GOODNESS... my lashes popped when I applied the mascara. They looked longer and plusher. Impressive. Scary impressive.
Then I headed out and by the time I reached my car my eyes were watering something fierce - I live in Atlanta or as I call it... the fifth ring of Makeup Hell... and the lovely mascara ran... and ran and ran. It's highly pigmented so it wasn't pretty. I think that it ran more than any other mascara I've used.
The watery eyes are my issue and do not detract from how amazing the mascara is. I am going to head out to Sephora this weekend to pick up the waterproof version. I'll update my review then.
Love this lip color (Muse)
I was at Sephora during Homecoming Weekend (which I will never do again) and noticed the gorgeous color one of the employees was wearing. A pink that is actually pink and not bubble gum or a flashback to the pinks I wore back in the 80's is actually a lot harder to come across than one would think. When you're young you can get away with a lot ... as you get older... some lipstick colors are the cosmetic version shopping at Buckle... just because you can doesn't mean that you should.
So back to the Stila Long Lasting Liquid Lip Color in Muse. It's pink, a highly pigmented pink that stays true. More importantly, it really is long lasting (let it dry) and doesn't actually dry out your lips. I still use a bit of balm over it just for shine.
Great product - great color.
Lovely Color - Not much else to recommend this
I've become quite attached to wearing lip stains with lip glosses as opposed to wearing lipstick all the time. I have quite a few of the Fusion LipFusion glosses so I didn't hesitate to pick up the Infatuation in "In the Flesh".
The color is gorgeous - a nearly neutral pink/beige. On the plus side the color doesn't change when you put it on, it remains true which I can appreciate.
The negatives: It really doesn't last, it certainly doesn't "plump" my lips and it's rather sticky.
I tossed this gloss into the box I send my niece filled with make up to use when she plays dress up and decided to stick with MAC's Boy Bait as my go to nude pinky beige lip gloss.
A really flattering color
There are days when I am just NOT IN THE MOOD to put on my whole face - and on those days I have a small makeup bag that contains my FAST FACE. The blush/face powder I use is Dandelion.
The pink shade is just lovely and it adds this wonderful flush of color that I think would be flattering on anyone. I've used it with just mascara and lip gloss in a pinch.
Flash 886 Mauve Accent PERFECT Gloss
I am a big fan of using Lip Stains and then covering them with a gloss. I picked up Dior Addict Ultra Gloss (886 Mauve Accent) on whim to go with a NARS lip stain.
The gloss is wonderful. The color is gorgeous, and the sparkle is not overbearing. It's not sticky and it stays on through the 4 cups of tea I have almost every morning. I actually picked up a second one in the same color to keep in my purse for those times when I leave the house without any other makeup on.
Not any better than Covergirl Lipstain
I adore Josie Marin's Oil and Hair Serum. I was really set to love the lip stains.
I purchased several shades (Cha-Cha and Foxtrot being my favorites) and was really disappointed when they both dried out after one use.
They appear to be just like the Cover Girl stains which it turns out have the same shelf life - so I stored them upright with the tip down (as CG suggested for their no shelf life magic markers) and within a day each of the stains was completely dried out.
Wow and Yay!!
It's the most wonderful time of the year here in Atlanta... the humidity goes away and I don't have to wander around in fear that I will get out of my car and find that I have CLOWN hair. Unfortunately that also means that my hair gets a touch dry and I have to switch out the products that I use.
I LOVE and I mean LOVE the Argan Hair Serum. A little bit after I style my hair and I'm good to go for the day. My hair is shiny and smooth. Oh delicately scented.
Yikes! It Works!!
I am going to start this review by pointing out that you need to take care of your skin. Start Early.
I used the Aveda Tourmaline Charged Facial Products forever. I love Aveda as a company. I realized a few months ago that it was time to try something for "mature skin" (I hate that term by the way it makes me feel like the Crypt Keeper) and after a disastrous month using Meaningful Beauty I picked up the Olay Regenerist Line.
I am a believer and a convert. After a week I noticed a marked difference in my skin. After a month my skin was improved - smaller pores, and clearer skin. I even skipped out on my monthly peel. Seriously... I'm a believer.
A good choice - effective
I am currently growing out my nails after removing acrylics. I am all about experimenting with different products. I've used Sally Hansen (didn't work and I hated the way it just peeled off), OPI Nail Envy, Orly Nail Defense... along with others
Orly's Nail Defense is actually a good choice. I used it as directed and my nails did actually grow. A friend recommended OPI's Nail Envy which I used and liked better. I began taking Biotin at the same time so the Nail Envy is probably no better than the Nail Defense it was just a matter of timing.
Anyway - I like the Nail Defense, I actually like the whole Orly line. I carry a mini kit when I travel and it's all Orly products.
All The Colors
Okay, I adore the Orly Nail Laquer. They are my second favorite, next to OPI and for some bizarre reason I always wind up doing my toes in Orly Colors.
The colors are intense and long lasting. The Bonder, Nail Defense and Quick Dry spray are also fairly amazing.
My current favorite color is Naughty - which looks amazing with sandals. It's dark without being creepy. And like all the Orly colors it's really rich... opaque without having to apply more than two coats.
The review by Adriana C (below) is spot on... Rage is an amazing color and the effect is really cool. The first Orly color I used was Shine which I have to admit I pull out and use when I am going out because I love the silver foil effect.
Great colors, great price, and Ulta also sells "Minis" which are great to take along to do on the spot patches if you get chipped.
