Not suitable for everyday wear, but a gorgeous fiery duo

This duo of pale peach gold and burnt orange is on FIRE! It's an unexpected combination; you wouldn't think that peach and orange would be flattering on the lids! When worn correctly, it can be a festive addition to your makeup wardrobe.

I like wearing the pale shade on the lid (not on the browbone) and then lightly working the orange into the crease and the lower lash line. Make sure to put lots of black liner and mascara so you don't have bunny eyes. I love to pair this look with a neutral bronzer and a warm red lip.

Again, I can't wear this everyday, and it takes a certain type of warm coloring to carry it off. If you can, the texture is flawless and the pigmentation divine.

The most beautiful taupe and seafoam :)

My gosh. This is the best eyeshadow duo ever. The right side is a luxuriously frosted seafoam mint, and the left side is the COOLEST plum/charcoal/taupe hybrid with subtle sparkles. It's a very difficult shade to describe, and can turn warmer or cooler depending on what shades your pair it with. I love pairing it with jewel tones like emerald, forest green, sapphire blues, and pewter gray. The complex taupe and the seafoam mint make a glorious duo. I apply the seafoam mint on the inner corner/inner lid of the eye, while I put on the complex taupe either on the lid or the crease.

Love love this duo. You need to try it in person to understand :)

Earthy neutrals with a kick

Earth Angel consists of a bronzey toned taupe paired with a shimmering golden olive. Alone, both colors are beautiful and blend like a dream. Together, they look slightly muddy on my eyes. Perhaps its because my eyes have hazel, brown, and olive bits in them; it's just too matchy matchy for me. However, on green or blue eyes, I can see this subtly enhancing them well.

If you can pull off this duo, I recommend applying the bronzey taupe side on the lids, and pressing the olive shade into the inner corner/inner lid of the eye. Don't over blend them together! Apply a deep brown eyeliner (like Bobbi Brown Espresso Eyeliner), curl lashes, and apply mascara for a unique and fresh look.

Beautiful in the pan, a little chalky applied

Cleo looks like a mermaid's everyday eyeshadow duo. The light side of the duo is a pale seafoam aqua (leaning more toward the blue side). Unfortunately, it swatches and applies SLIGHTLY chalky but... still a pretty color. The darker duo is a deep matte blackened teal (very similar to MAC Plumage eye shadow). For a cool mod look, apply the pale shadow all over the lid. Take a dense shadow brush (like the MAC 219) and apply the deep teal directly on the crease, swishing your brush back and forth. Now, it should look like you put a thick line of dark shadow on your crease. THEN, take your MAC 217 brush and blend the teal like mad! Blend it up, blend it down, and soften the look so the harshest and darkest part should be faintly visible. Apply winged liquid liner and some dramatic mascara and you've got yourself a perfect 60's party look :)

Some duos are great, some aren't

NARS is VERY hit and miss with their eye shadows. Some are really chalky and not worth it at all, while others have some of the best texture and wear I've come across. Yes, they are $32 per duo, but they have the most wonderful color combinations compared to any other cosmetic line. Francois Nars truly understands color.

All About Eve consists of two flesh toned neutrals. One has more shimmer than the other. Do not be fooled because they are NOT identical! One provides a “lids but better” base, and is perfect natural to blend out with other darker shadows. The other is a beautiful luminescent highlighter shade, perfect for the browbone and inner corners. Together, these give your lids the ultimate nude base, ready to line and lash! Try applying the highlighter side with a damp MAC 217 brush, your eyes will glow!

Great quality, only one shade is worth it.

Stylish move looks beautiful in the pan. Dior makes some of the highest quality, finely milled shadow formulations out there.Starting on the upper left corner clockwise, you get a shimmery mid-range taupe, a pale shimmering petal pink, a warm light-medium raspberry mauve, and (the best shade in the quint), a deep jewel toned eggplant. The middle shadow is a warm off white. All of these shadows come in a mirrored compact with two mini shadow applicators.

In the image attached, I used the middle off white shade as a base, the petal pink to highlight, the raspberry mauve on the lid, and the deep eggplant in the crease/outer corners. I was only really happy with the deep eggplant; everything else sort of looked “blah” on my eyes. For my brown eyes, it didn't really do much, perhaps it was too pink toned overall?

So for the one deep eggplant shade, I would not recommend spending over $50 on an eyeshadow palette. This palette is an EXTREMELY high quality palette, but you have to be sure to love the colors to make Stylish Move worth it for you.

The perfect office taupe.

If you use Shu ME 850 Brown as your evening metallic taupe, your MAC Satin Taupe as your weekend shimmery taupe, then have no fear, because Bobbi Brown Stone Shimmer Wash is the perfect subtle pearl taupe!

This was my first ever taupe as I was getting into the world of makeup. It holds a special place in my heart :) Although the shadow is pretty balanced between brown and gray, it does slightly lean to the cooler gray side. I love wearing it with charcoal, black, navy blue, deep green, and espresso brown. It gives eyes a beautiful depth but doesn't overpower them with loads of frost. It's definitely an office staple.

Look like you stepped out of a winter frost

As I stare outside my California home in December, and see palm trees instead of snowman, I look back to my childhood east coast home, waddling around in the beautiful snow. That's what I think of whenever I use Bobbi Brown Snow Shimmer Wash eyeshadow.

It's a opalescent and creamy white with the softest and butteriest texture. It's the PERFECT white shimmery eyeshadow. If I dab this on the inner corners of my eyes they look ethereal. This would look fantastic on ANY cool toned skintone (including dark). On complexions with warmer undertones, this might clash, so try Bone Shimmer Wash instead (which I love as well). Highly recommend for a great white shadow that will last you forever!

Feminine and girly wash of color

This is one of the softest and most beautiful purple shadows! It's a sheer pastel lilac lavender shade that's more blue toned than pink. On the eyes (mine are honey brown), it enhances the greenish bits in them and makes them glow. It's a very pale shade so it's better suited for pale-medium skin tones (the cooler the skin tone, the better).

I typically wear it as a wash on the lids. It's not dark enough for crease work. Sometimes, I put it in the inner corner or smudge it on my lash line for a hint of lavender. With a wash on the lids and some black liquid liner, it's a sophisticated and soft look perfect for the first days of spring! For a more festive look, pair it with a bright green eyeliner on the upper lash line or on the outer corners of the lid.

Subtle and Sexy Gunmetal shade

This shadow is HOT. It's a deep smokey pewter charcoal, the color of gunmetal :) It's got strong blue/gray tones to it so it makes the perfect deep smoky eye. I love pairing it either on the lid or crease with a shimmering white shadow (try Snow Shimmer Wash) and a deep matte black for liner and outer crease work.

Since this a very deep and pigmented shadow, I recommend using a densely packed shadow for lining and smudging (like the NARS Smudge brush), and a fantastic and blendable crease brush for blending and defining (try MAC 217)
