Excellent Exfoliator
My skin had enough. After applying makeup, sunscreen, and skincare, my skin became clogged with build up. It looked dull and I lost the glow I try to maintain. I decided that I needed to exfoliate my skin and reveal a new layer of skin!
After doing a lot of research, I purchased Murad AHA/BHA Exfoliating cleanser because it cleansed, exfoliated, and had AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acid) and BHA (Beta Hydroxy Acid), two skincare products known for revealing beautiful skin and fading acne marks.
Murad's AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser is a great product to have in your skincare regime. I use it every other day to exfoliate product build up or dead skin. After I use it, my skin is always glowing and my pores are cleaner and smaller. It's not a product to use everyday otherwise it's too harsh, but, the exfoliating beads are small enough where I can use them every other day.
Great false lashes at an affordable cost
I'm doing a general review on Ardell false lashes, not any particular ones. Brands like Make up Forever, MAC and Shu Uemura have high quality "artistic" false lashes that can range from $15 + . Ardell lashes are great quality at a low cost. They last a long time on lashes and with proper care, can be used many times.
I first used them for my Halloween costume (in photo). I was a sexy vampire and wanted dramatic lashes. These fit perfectly on my eye, and did not hurt when taking them off. They blended well with my own lashes. At $6 a pair, these are definitely worth it to have in your kit for special events.
AMAZING product. Cost might deter you. Still worth it.
I love what Pangea Organics is all about. They formulate all of their products without any- Parabens, Sulfates, Synthetic Fragrances, Synthetic Dyes, Petrochemicals, Phthalates, GMOs, and Triclosan (whatever this is...glad it's not in my skincare :D)
I also love their commitment to sustainability...there are SEEDS in the packaging. You just plant the box it comes with in dirt, take care of it as you would any budding flower, and bam! You get plants. Sorry for my over-exuberance, but I think that's pretty awesome.
That said, this mask feels and looks like green sludge. It's got all those earthy good for you ingredients, and I look like the green monster when I put it on my face. It's all worth it though, because when I wash it off my skin is tighter and glowing! I feel like I've done something good for my skin.
They recently changed the packaging to a tube (it used to be in an awkward pot that you had to stick your fingers into....so bravo Pangea for a good packaging re-design!)
The cost.....is high. It costs $40 for a tube. I just love this product too much not to recommend it though. So go. Go spend $40 on a fabulous product from a wonderful skincare brand doing nice things for mama earth.
Lots of hits and misses
I first tried this in Butter and realized it was too dark for my fair skin (I'm about a NC15-20 in MAC for all that understand MAC code :P). Creme is a much better match on me!
The texture is smooth and like mousse. I noticed a bit of separation in the tube so I had to shake it every time I applied. Going on the skin, it feels very and even softens my skin. I suspect that's the Argan Oil in it. Her products have great ingredients in them, and I'm happy about the SPF 30. Unfortunately it only has 1% Avobenzone which isn't enough for me, meaning I still have to layer another sunscreen another (not a big deal, really). It oxidizes slightly on the face but not enough for anyone to notice, and gives an overall dewy sheen. I have combination skin so I can get away with this by powdering or blotting over a bit, but I'm concerned it might be too moisturizing/oily for oilier skin textures. I personally prefer a little more coverage than this but it was nice for light days
Overall a nice feeling TM with very good ingredients, but just doesn't do it for me.
Non-filmy, rinses off, washes off makeup! A++
I have really sensitive skin, so it's hard to find a cleanser that cleanses both makeup and other impurities after a long day out.
I've found it in Boscia's Makeup Breakup Cleansing Oil. I was a little off put of the concept of cleansing my face with....oil? After trying Shu Uemura's cleansing oil and breaking out, I was a little disheartened. However, when this product comes into contact with water it immediately turns into a milk and rinses off. How awesome is that? Every night, I press one pump of product onto my hands and immediately lather it onto my dry skin (don't pre-wet your face). It feels a bit weird as you are lathering oil onto your skin and eyes, but after you rinse under the sink your face has no film, and washes all eye makeup off (even stay put liners). Boscia is a great skincare brand overall and their products are of the highest quality. You get 5 oz of product for $26 which is a good investment for a product that will last for a few months with daily use.
Excellent beige base
Milani eyeshadows are a hidden GEM! They are the exact size as MAC's pan eyeshadows so you can depot them into MAC empty palettes. Of course, the quality isn't the same as, say, a Dior shadow. But for $3 a pop, you cannot go wrong with any of these.
Sheer Sand is a great staple to have. It's a neutral shimmery beige/tan, and looks good with just about any color out there. I love using it to highlight my browbone, and applied wet, looks glowing on my eye lids.
For a simple and glowing everyday look, wash Sheer Sand all along the lid with a damp MAC 224 brush. Then, take a MAC 217 brush and lightly blend Milani Javabean into the lid. After, take a MAC 239 brush and smudge Javabean all along the upper lashline (and outer half of lower lash line). Blend everything so it subtly gradients out vs. a harsh line. Mascara, peachy nude cheeks and clear gloss....a great and easy neutral look.
A wonderful warm chocolate-y brown
Milani eyeshadows are a hidden GEM! They are the exact size as MAC's pan eyeshadows so you can depot them into MAC empty palettes. Of course, the quality isn't the same as, say, a Dior shadow. But for $3 a pop, you cannot go wrong with any of these.
Java Bean is such a great shade. It's a deep chocolate-y espresso brown with a hint of golden shimmer. It's usable in the crease, outer corner, as a liner...just about anything! It's got a nice balance of gold so it doesn't lean too bronze and maintains its neutrality :) I would pair it with warmer tones, and for a unique look on the eyes, with a sheer lavender on the lids! (Try Bobbi Brown Lilac Shimmer Wash eye shadow)
With a fluffy brush (like the MAC 224), wash a sheer amount of lilac shadow on the lid. Make sure you get the entire browbone and inner corners! Then, using a denser and smaller shadow brush (like the MAC 219 or 239), smudge Javabean on the outer upper lash line, up through the outer corner and crease. Blend, blend blend so it doesn't look like an awkward spot of brown shadow on your lids :) Curl lashes and top with mascara, ballet pink blush (like Shu M Pink 30A), and shimmery pink lip gloss for a feminine and flirty look.
This color is SHOCKing
The description says it all. A bright medium purple-pink with subtle blue shimmer, what's not to love???
This color packs a punch on the lids, and you can either pair neutrals with it to tone it down, or go for it with brights! As usual, the quality and pigmentation is superb for the 3 dollar price tag.
Try pairing this with a neutral peachy gold (like MAC All that Glitters eye shadow) on the lid. With a MAC 217 crease brush, blend Milani Shock into the socket/crease and outer corner of the eye. With the same brush, blend Shock down into the lower lash line too. Using a L'Oreal felt tip Liquid liner, line upper lashline and flick out slightly for a cute flirty wing on the eyes. Top with your favorite mascara.
For an even brighter look, pair this with a chartreuse shade like MAC chartreuse pigment. Place a neutral beige as a base (like Milani Sheer Sand or MAC Shroom), Put Shock all over the lid and blend up using a fluffy blending brush (either MAC 217 or MAC 224). Take your chartreuse pigment and blend it in the inner corner to inner lid, AND in the crease using the MAC 217. With a subtle nude cheek and lip, this is a balanced and colorful look sure to amaze :)
Pigmented Medium Royal Blue
Milani eyeshadows are a hidden GEM! They are the exact size as MAC's pan eyeshadows so you can depot them into MAC empty palettes. Of course, the quality isn't the same as, say, a Dior shadow. But for $3 a pop, you cannot go wrong with any of these.
Blue Ice is a medium shimmery royal blue. I love pairing this with other bright colors like Milani Shock (a vibrant red toned purple) and Milani Flare (a burnt copper). This color is definitely not for the timid; it's incredibly pigmented and wears really well when paired with a primer (like Urban Decay Primer Potion). Since this is such a vibrant blue, it might be harder to pull off on blue eyes. For green and brown eyes, you are good to go! For a subtly bright look, smudge this on the lower lash line with black liner + mascara on top!
Great substitute for MAC Humid eye shadow
Milani eyeshadows are a hidden GEM! They are the exact size as MAC's pan eyeshadows so you can depot them into MAC empty palettes. Of course, the quality isn't the same as, say, a Dior shadow. But for $3 a pop, you cannot go wrong with any of these.
Clover is a deep forest green with shimmer, a good substitute for MAC Humid. The texture isn't quite as good as Humid, but for $3 it's still workable. I recommend wearing this with lavenders, purples, blues, basically any color in some way can work with this shadow. I personally love wearing it on the outer corner smudged up, and smudged into the lower lash line with a peachy gold wash of shadow on the lid (like Milani Sun Goddess or MAC All That Glitters)
This can be depotted and put into either a MAC 4 Pan Palette or a MAC Empty 15 Pan Palette.
