I actually think I'm getting more than I'm giving to this amazing community. lol!
So, I'm ready to take some more. I was wondering I you guys know of must-do's or must-haves when talking about a wound in the healing process.
I just got a surgery and they made a cut right under my nose. The cut and the stitches are bot as fresh as day one.
I'm started to get a (not very elegant) crust, but I'm pretty clueless about what I could do to deal with it in the best way possible to avoid a very notorious scar.
Is there a product I should be using or something I should be avoiding?

Avoid alcohol and chemical product. Use natural oil, and like MG says vitamin E oil is good for scars and aloe Vera as well

Whatever you do...do not remove the crust!! Under that crust is healthy new skin developing and if you remove it prematurely you could delay healing and possibly cause deeper scarring. Keep your skincare super basic. Nothing with active ingredients should be used. Do not use Merderma till the stiches dissolve on their own ( I'm assuming that is what you have). Take a damp qtip (and be sure to not double dip) and apply a light touch of vitamin e oil to the affected area. I say wet qtip so you don't leave behind any cotton lint on the stitches/scab. My daughter was born with a cleft lip/palate and has had surgeries galore (5 so far) and this is the method I used whenever she went thru corrective surgery on her nose/lip area. She has a super faint scar that is not raised at all.

If you had surgery, ask the surgeon what you should do. There are rx creams that can help you avoid or minimize scarring. I would not put anything my doctor had not approved on skin healing after surgery.

Thank you girls!! @Shelley, love to hear your baby is such a warrior! I will make sure to ask my doctor and see if he has something to say. I will leave the crust be. It's so annoying, it totally looks like a bugger! Lmao! Thanks again!
