Braid your hair or section your hair and twist into tiny buns on your head I know it sounds crazy but it does work for some people just depends on your type of hair.

What I tend to do is, because my hair is incredibly similar to yours is I wash my hair at night letting it dry naturally and in the morning I brush it and put oil through the mids to ends, then I gather my hair in the high middle if my head " like if you were going to do a pony tail" BUT DO NOT TIE!! Twist the hair and put it into a bun fastening it with bobby pins or hair clips again avoid using a hair tie!! Then do your make up and get dressed and all that stuff!! The longer you leave it the better it is! When you are finished release the pins and don't touch it then use hairspray and lightly spray your hair, then pull it to the front and adjust! This works for subtle curls and volume if you want it like the photo exactly use a sea salt spray or put you hair into a French plait but make sure that is all the way to the ends to avoid the straight bit... Hope this helps!!
