Idk but I have one inside my nose, it's been there for years and drives me nuts, I feel your pain. Sometimes it's a scar and unfortunately won't go away.

You should have kept it in btw but it means its got abit infected just try cleaning it out and keep the nose ring inside so it don't close up or you may have to get it repierced.

My cousin had her cartilige pierced and she let it heal up then a lump formed like this. She went to the doctors and they said its over healing, where the body just doesn't stop growing skin so a limp forms. The doctor suggested steroid injections, but it got too big so she now has to have it surgically removed.

Tea tree oil, sea salt soaks work great. What worked best for me which others won't approve of is rubbing alcohol, it got rid of mine within a few days, also I'd suggest putting the stud back in, removing it can cause more trauma.

Also the term for the bump is called a granumola which is the body's reaction to the torn cartilage, the body is sending extra cells to the year causing a build up of tissue.
