Did you strip the color first? I've had friends bleach their hair and it turned out like that because they didn't strip it first. Maybe that will help? Good luck!

For starters I would never do another girls hair like I would do my own with bleaching as it's okay for me to rush it and maybe ruin my ends a little bit but doing it over and over again isn't going to work in one day, you'll have to wait at least a week for the hair to regenerate before the bleach will take out more of her hair pigment. What colour was her hair before you started bleaching and what volume peroxide have you been using? Also what shade of blonde is she trying to achieve?

As for the peroxide level now, I'd be using 20vol because her hair isn't black or dark brown. Red is the hardest pigment to remove (her hair in the picture looks red) but I'd still use 20, it'll take more then one bleach but if her hair is already chemically damaged from the prior bleaching I wouldn't use anything higher.

It was black. I actually didn't use a volume , Sally's was closed. So I got a bleaching kit. I did her ends first cause I know her roots would lighten faster , but more towards the middle of her hair started to lighten first then the roots then the ends? And we just needed ,,, not exactly blonde but way lighter because we're putting bright red over it.

Okay Thankyou , that's what I thought I just needed to know before I wasted money.

Oh okay! Well then yes, I'd just use a 20vol again when her hair can take it and it doesn't need to be blonde to go the bright red she wants, even a light orange colour will do :)

If you have to do it then just make sure she deep conditions her hair often and gets a good trim :) good luck!
