What would be considered a good price for a freelance makeup artist to charge her clients (bridal, prom, etc.)?

Hmmmm...when I used to compete I was paying $150. $50 was a non-refundable deposit and I paid $100 the day of event. And if she had to travel beyond our city she tacked on another $50 for fuel (Jacksonville to Orlando run).

Oh wow, hmm...I might be able to get by with $65 where I live. :) Thanks ladies!

I charge £80 but a lot of the times I get £100+ because of the work I do. A lot of Muslim women give me tips coz I don't take pictures which is a bonus 😊☺️

Price is pretty much based on region. I did a show in New York City and paid twice that but she wasn't as great as my local MUA.

I live on long island and I already charge my clients enough for their facials, micros and peels I don't wanna push my luck lol plus they can go to mac and get it for 50 so I charge what I no I can get

@Traci...if I get back into competing I will definitely hire you. NY/Jersey is on the competition circuit and my last MUA there wasn't so great. She made me look a hot mess and it killed my confidence on stage.

Recently, I've paid artists $50-70 for their services, minus travel fees. I'm in the dallas area...

I was cleared medically to go back into it but I have graduate school coming up and if I get my fellowship I'd have to work events around teaching. Just pace yourself Traci. If you can get by with just an hour a day is better than nothing.

@Tonita...I met an awesome artist in Dallas!! He made my eyes POP. I have to give props to TX...the MUA's really know how to do phenomenonal eye work (brows included).

Shelley, you do/did figure competitions? There was a gal in my makeup artist certification class who competes, we're fb friends, her pics are amazing! I was so curious because of course I only saw her with her clothes on ;)

@Bree...its pretty insane. My classmates for three years had no clue either that I was into the sport. I kept myself covered up when I attended school. On the fence about getting back into it. Does she compete under? IFBB or NPC?
