Outfit & makeup ideas for a first date?

I'm going on a date tomorrow night. We are going to have a couple of drinks in a cool bar.
I want to wear a black or navy blue maxi skirt but I have no idea how to style it(top, shoes, accessories,...) & what to do with my makeup? I would to have a nice gold/bronze glowy make up look any ideas?
