An SPF doent even affect how pictures look, it's a myth :-)

Was just going to say what Janet said...I do believe that there was a post created about that by the meditators.

If you're very concerned about 'flashback' you can get a foundation with up to spf 20. As the ladies mentioned, the theory is untrue about spf and flash, it's the quality of the flash, it's colour and it's intensity.

If you want a foundation to help with pictures you should probably get an hd foundation. Makeup forever has one most like.

Face Atelier has no SPF.

I really enjoy MAC Face & Body foundation for nighttime events/photography.
The SPF thing indeed is a bit of an exaggerated fact, but titanium dioxide (an ingredient in many sunscreens) can cause a bit of a white cast if you have it in "large doses" (SPF20, like previously mentioned. My Revlon Colorstay photographs equally well, but it still has SPF 15. However, I still prefer MAC Face & Body just because of how buildable it is and how beautifully it reads on camera and in person! xx

Zinc and titanium do cause flashback. But typically in photoshoots or red carpet... lower spfs are fine, like 15. And new spf have clear zinc, and new sun protectors that do not caste white. But it is not a myth...

Just keep spf low, avoid hd powders, and use setting spray...

Hd is not for flash photograhy... please note
Not sure folks understand difference between hd and flash photograhy makeup application...
Rcma no color setting powder, is great for flash and hd photos

There's an excellent thread about this by our moderator Jackie. She explains it in detail-- from setting powders to spf to lighting. It's pretty recent and if you do a search, it should come up. I'm on the app, so sadly I can't find and post the link for you.

HD makeup can have serious flashback. (Wayne Goss has a video on this if you check his YouTube channel.) I use UD Naked foundation and its SPF free. I have an oily t-zone and it actually holds oil at bay for a few hours instead of being greasy within an hour.

Times like this I wish Jordan liberty would pop up and answer these question's on here like he use to.But here is a video of Jordan that will explain it all. This subject is always a back and forth with artist and Wayne also can sometimes change his mind on technique's or view of finish.

I agree that you can use it. Why risk it... specially on a paying job, I'd never take the risk with a client. (Didnt say cannot, said 'is not' and 'avoid'.. )

Even with dry skin, light applications may be used, and setting sprays. But again, if its for flash photo... I'd just assume to use product right for job and not risk mishap, bad work, or client loss.

I love eshiko powder... but do not use it in my kit. Only personally. Rcma, ben nye, make excellent setting powders... i perfed them to hd silica based. They wear better as well, imo

Lol, see, now I disagree with the risk thing... but I'm the anxious type. Haha... I hope you know I'm not being catty...

Weve both been in industry for years... bound to be set in our ways

Revlon colour stay for oily skin has a really low SPF I think of 6 And rimmel lasting finish 25 hour foundation has no SPF I don't think.
