Hey everyone!

I typically wear my natural locks, but I am now wearing a sew in weave for convenience. This sew in weave is human remy hair. It is Velvet Remy Mirage Wave.

The issue is that the hair has grown to be a bit flat already and stringy. I think some of my hair oil may have gotten on it. Do you all have any tips on how I can restore the hair to its fullness? I spoke with the beautician and she said it is too early to co-wash it, but leave in conditioner could help make it full again.  Thoughts?

u should wash the hair with a clarifying shampoo and let it air dry.... do not put any oil in it

I would shampoo it with either clarifying or weave shampoo and then let it air dry, but if you ever plan on straightening it then it would be best to blow dry it so that it doesn't look stiff. Also, don't put oil in it, meaning no sheen sprays or whatever else. If you oil your scalp, oil ONLY your scalp. Oil is an easy way to weigh any hair down.

a deep conditioner should work. i have remy extensions too and ive dyed them a bunch of different times and have bleached them twice, and i use a deep conditioner evey time i dye them and theyre not damaged or anything. so i feel like it would work the same way with the oil that got in them.

I agree with the other ladies. You should definitely clarify and then air dry. Make sure to use a nice moisturizing conditioner after clarifying.
