Blushes like pinkish or redish are suppose to be in your apple of your cheeks. Bronzers are to contour your cheeks.

Try a light coral color or peach. you don't want to look like your in a constant state of blushing. don't apply blush to the apples of your cheeks either. if you notice when you smile your cheeks raise up right? well when your not smiling, the blush is going to end up being down by your nostrils. apply blush on your cheek bone. just feel for the highest point on your cheeks. start about the middle of your eye and blend up towards your temple. start with only a tiny tiny bit. you can always add more color but blush is hard to take off if you have too much. cream blushes are excellent for beginners try covergirl or maybelline. if you just want to practice at home, if you have any loose pigments or even pink/peach eyeshadow, put some on the back of your hand and put a few drops of visene and mix. place a few small dots along your cheek bone then use a brush and blend blend blend.

@Audra B. took the words right outta my mouth. I too used to apply on the apples of my cheeks till I learned that it was aging on me. Because when I wasn't smiling it lookes like my cheeks were hanging low on my face. I now apply how you suggested and what a huge difference it makes.

@shelley I did the same thing. I never wore blush for the longest time because I always felt like I looked like raggedy ann. I was watching some youtube videos and thought I would give blush another chance and wayne goss broke it down for me. it was a real A-Ha moment. I always thought you smile and apply to the area that gets raised up! No wonder I always ended up looking like either I was trying too hard and losing the battle or just didnt know what I was doing. Glad I could help @juhi.
