What's the best way to find your best foundation color.

Test on the back of your wrist.

Your jawline. the color has to match your neck, so that it looks as one flow of color. matching it to the face could lead to a problematic look as if the face and the neck are not the same color, you would have 2 distinctively different colors, which is not something you want. so pick a color that matches your neck and make sure to blend it down (on your face and then down, towards your neck) so that it all looks one color. hope I hlelped.

The best place to test is your chest. Otherwise your cheek is good.

Don't test on anywhere apart from your face that's like holding a pair of earings to your wrist to see if it looks good, your face skin is totally different from the rest of your body.

When I studied at a makeup school, we were clearly told NOT to match to the face, but the neck/top chest area. the face and neck area do not always look the same.

I was also taught in school to match to the chest when possible. Your face can be red/pink as a result of rosacea (for example) and throw off your match. You get a better match on your chest for that reason.

Jacqueline, I agree. That's the way I do it to on other people. The one thing I don't match it to (as absurd as it sounds ) is the face, as it it can be so different from the chest/nech area and then you have different colors in one person, which is not the look one is going for.
