So I've always had a problem where a lot of my hair falls out when I shower, brush my hair , even when applying hair products.
I have thin straight hair, it has been colored before but even way before I started messing with my hair it had been doing that and lately it just doesn't want to grow as fast as it used too.
I've been using moisturizers and heating protectors but I dot usually style my hair much why advice can you guys give me :)

hair does go through growth stages, that's why it sheds... but if you're loosing more then normal you really should see a doctor it because it could be serious and you do want to keep your hair growing, not having your follicles shutting down.

I had the same thin happen to me, hair was falling out into clumps an just snapping with a bobble in it..
I went to the hair dressers and bought redkin damaged hair shampoo and conditioner and washed my hair once a week.. Within 6 months my hair doesn't fall out as much or snap. An I'm back to styling it as normal. I still wash my hair only once a week but use Moroccan oil shampoo this works just aswel.

@talaia well it isn't so serious but yeah it does fall constantly .
@daniella I actually use head and shoulders and the John Frieda hair repair and it was giving me tons of dandruff :(
But I will try that oil and I hope it helps because if I got 2 days without washing my hair it just gets oily and gross and I can't stand that :(

Try drinking some supplements/vitamins such as biotin & folic acid. These two go great together.

I have been having the same problem, so I did a lot of research and what I found out is to take a multivitamin everyday, also take biotin, and the best thing to do is to spray rose water on your scalp! I made my rosewater myself and its amazing. Rose water circulates the blood flow in your scalp to help it grow. It also prevents less breakage and makes the hair follicle stronger. I have used it for 5 days and I have already noticed my roots feet stronger! I also use Joico Moisture Recovery products (shampoo, conditioner, hair mask) and Main & Tail conditioner. Also, when taking showers don't brush your hair in the shower or when its wet because that causes a lot of hair loss and breakage! When its wet use a wide tooth comb and start from the ends. When I blow dry I use Kenra Blow Dry spray :) Smells amazing and protects the hair, also cutting your blow dry time in half which means less heat on your hair!

How often do you comb/brush your hair? Average head sheds 80-100 hairs a day so if you wash your hair every couple days/dont comb as much, it could just look like you're losing a lot of hair when you're really not.

Well I have been drinking water a lot and i might start taking prenatal pills because I might be expecting but yeah I'll try the biotin and all those products but I don't brush my hair so much only when it's damped but not so wet and that's when I'm out the shower. But thanks for all your tips I hope everything works cuz I've been trying for so long!

Your hair just may in a state of rest, in which it's not growing. It's about a 100 day period when your hair may dislodge old hair. It's completely normal nothing to worry about. The growing cycle will soon start, and that cycle last from 600-1000 days! But yes taking vitamins will make the remaining hair stronger and healthier, and also a healthy diet helps as well.

Take vitamins. Perferabbly vitamin E and try to add it to your diet also. Try not putting products on your hair (or at least not alot) and no heat. just condition it but dint weigh it down. it needs to grow strength, the vitamins will help :)

I have this problem with my hair too. I've noticed that if I skip conditioner l it doesn't fall out as much. You could also try switching up your shampoo

Well see I've tried probably everything in the book but maybe not everything.
I've tried:
Avocado & egg mask
Moisturizer
No conditioner
Trimming
Prenatal pills in shampoo
Changing shampoos
Ugh everything just failed for me :)

Sulfate free shampoo and make sure you aren't using too much protein in your products (my breakage was due to protein overload). Extra virgin unrefined coconut oil as a deep conditioner and you can apply to ends daily (dramatically reduced breakage for me). Organic apple cider vinegar (both drinking and applying to scalp) also works with encouraging hair growth. You also need to try new things for a couple weeks to a month. Don't give up too quickly because you didn't see results overnight

Well I did everything over the process of 2 years...the only thing that showed more results was the prenatal pills in the shampoo but it smelled bad and using it so much I couldn't get rid of that smell so I stopped using it.
