Depends on the brand you use. Liquid Eyeliner are good to prevent that to happen. Also the eye primer helps a lot!

I haven't use NYX but Maybelline liquid eyeliner is pretty good. And I also like Avon products. They are not expensive as MAC but the work good.

Thanks! I will try setting it with the same color shadow and see if that helps... I tried a black eyeshadow but it always looks like a got punched in the eye or something. I must be doing the wrong thing.

I use a very thin eyeliner brush and go over it as soon as I put the eyeliner on

Are you wearing eyeshadow when it gets on your top lid? I notice that happens to me sometimes when I don't have eyeshadow on just eyeliner so I will just swipe a little but of skin color eyeshadow on and it won't get on my lids I guess I have oily lids lol
