I would leave it just for a while, as much as you hate it. It's better to let it heal before putting anything over it as it will be very sore. I worked in a nail salon and had it happen to me a few times, my boss refused to fix it until it healed a bit.

DON't TOUCH IT! Just keep a bandaid on it until it grows back. It'll hurt so bad if you buff it. Just let it come back. I made the same mistake.
