I'm so lost. I wear mascara lol that's my make up knowledge. maybe add some eyeshadow for special days.

Hopefully y'all don't freak out on me for asking about putting make up on my daughter. She's in dance and ballet. Her recital is coming up soon and I was just given the make up list.

Eye Shadow-
Shapphire Smokes by Maybelline NY

Lip-
Revlon #740 certainly red

I can manage the powder cover up easy enough.

The blush is a ehh can't be to hard right?!

I know it has to be applied more since the lightning on stage whites everything out.

What is the best way to apply the eyeshadow and lip stick? what tools do I need?

I tried today with what I had and it didn't come out nice.

Help please: (

Try using a lip brush to apply the lipstick. She has stunning eyes btw! Such a gorgeous girl!

Believe it or not its perfect for stage make up. I would also fill in her eyebrows with a brown shadow. I've been a dance mom for 7yrs and even worked in the studio! I tell the little its not pretty princess makeup. only for stage. Kids without makeup look like they don't have facial features under bright lights.

Hi Kimi,

The tools that you will need to apply the eyeshadow is a regular eyeshadow brush and a eyeshadow blending brush.

So with the Maybelline Shapphire palette take the regular eyeshadow brush and apply the green to the first half of her eye not taking the eyeshadow above the crease of the eye, next take the blue on the regular eyeshadow brush and apply it to the second half of the eye lid making sure you don't take it above the crease of the eye. Next on the regular eyeshadow brush take only a little bit of the black and apply it to the crease of her eye only on the outer corner of the crease only coming across to about half way. Then take your blending brush and take abit of the blue and green and apply that in the crease and in a back and froth motion blend the eyeshadow coming from the outer corner of her eye and taking not quite all the way to the inner corner of her eye. Then in the inner corner of her eye take the lightest white colour and apply it to the inner corner of her eye and apply abit to the brow bone for a high light!

For the lipstick you could also purchase a lip brush which you might find easier to apply to her smaller lips instead of applying it straight out of the tube!

I hope it's helps you and if you need anymore help don't hesitate to ask me (:

For red lips use a concealer as a base and put all over the lips lightly just to get a nice even base, then line the lips with any red lip liner pencil, then use a sm brush and apply lipstick, blot snd touch up any parys then very lightly apply sm amount of translucent powder on top to set it. you can also clean up any edges with a concealer.
when applying shadow, use your pinkie finger then a blender brush to blend it out by going back and forth across the lid. try to leave some space between the lid and brow so the shadow isn't going all the way to the brow. apply blush with a sm blush or powder brush on apples of the cheek in round motions lightly blending back towards the hairline. Mascara is hard to apply on kids but its best to have them look down then use your left thumb and place on the brow and gently pull up then apply the mascara, wiggling it as you brush up to coat all lashes.?
Good luck, and hope that helps.. she's a pretty girl and I'm sure she will look beautiful... just have fun with it :-)

This our first year. We love it so far.

Thanks so much everyone. Looks like I'll have it go buy some brushes lol.

Honestly, mascara was the easiest part. She is all girl so she didn't wiggle but she hated the shadow.

Also Thanks for the lovely comments. She's my cute little diva. I am just glad she's growing into hers. We called her buggy for a while they were so huge.

About hee eyebrows I kept thinking they needed to be colored in a bit. They are super blonde lol.

Aww how cute. Is that purple? Emily will love to try that.

You need to put eyeliner on her as well. I did dance for years growing up and twirled all 4 years of college so I'm no stranger to stage makeup for performances. Her makeup looks great but if I were in the audience it would be easier to see her eyes with a black eyeliner on top and bottom. She looks great though. Don't freak out about the makeup ether all of the other girls will look the same way. And yes you really can't see lips that well from the audience if you don't have on red lipstick. Good luck to your little girl at her recital.

You may use a little eyeliner. So that it your eyeshadow looks more brighter and stands out more.

I think the eyes look good. For the lips you need a lipliner. If you don't know how to apply you can look on you tube. About the blush, I always ask my daughter to make a fishy face and than I apply the blush. To make it even more fun to apply make up on. Instead of eyeliner you could use a black eyeshadow and make a thin line. Because is so hard to apply when you're only using mascara yourself. To make the black eyeshadow last longer you could dip the eyeshadow applicator in water. I hope this helps. Btw, I think it's strange that you have to buy and apply all the stuff yourself. Have fun, you'll be so proud when you see her on stage:) take some tissues!!
