I just dyed my hair yesterday but the color came out darker than what I wanted it. should I wait a couple of weeks or re dye it again?

I'm a cosmetologist and if it came out darker you can try fading it a little by using a clarifying shampoo and hot water! dying it again will only make it darker, and you can't put a lighter color over it because that will only take at your roots. I worked at sallys also for 2 years what color did you use and what developer?
