I came across a hair cleansing method called no poo. I must say. it makes a lot of difference. Let's see how long I can keep up with it.

I've been doing it for a year already and my hair loves it. From time to time I'll reach for a clarifying shampoo (sulfate free of course) but for the most part no poo method rules in my book. A lot cheaper too since it I don't have to rely on a second product to detangle.

Do you mean by no poo as in no shampoo just using conditioner? or what exactly :p.

@ Basma, yup that's correct. The no poo method is also referred to as co- washing or conditioner washing. Many ppl also refer to it as the curly girl method! :-D.

Does it work on white girl hair? I love the idea...like using wen and things like that or just regular conditioner?

I started to use wen cleansing conditioner at the beginning of this year and it totally changed my hair for the better. Then I did some research and learned that there are several just regular old drugstore conditioners that do the same thing. I have been using Aussie's moist conditioner, and it works like a charm. I got the huge bottle and it costed me a little over $5.00! I have coarse wavy hair that likes to do nothing more than get tangled lol. I haven't felt the need to use a clarifying shampoo much at all, especially since switching to Aussie moist. I think the wen one was maybe a little much for my hair because I was using a clarifier once a week. My scalp is also a lot less oily because all that shampoo I was using was just putting my scalp oils into overdrive! My hair has never looked/felt this healthy in ages :)

Thanks ladies- I have fine but rather wavy hair and may give this a go with a little scalp shampoo here and there as I am a runner :)

Totally depends on your hair. I didn't wash my hair for six weeks (except with water) and by the end it was very oily at the roots and just didn't feel nice and soft. I'm now back to washing my hair but much less often than before. I shampoo it when it's dirty and condition it when it's dry.

Thanks for the highlights, but the noo poo method that I'm doing is as follows;
1. massage baking soda on to the scalp under wet hair. And not on hair. Then wash off. 2. Take diluted vinegar and rinse bottom half of hair. voil?... Thats the noo poo method.
