Really you're 13 you're way too young for such piercings..you should research more important things to educate yourself instead of sitting there a researching about a labret piercing. And to answer your question neither it's ugly and very unprofessional looking. You'll realize that when you enter the real world

The real world Seline? I live in Portland Oregon and my "real world" consists of plenty of highly educated professional pierced people. Shame I. You for putting such negative thoughts in young girls heads. To each his own but you should watch how you word it. :/

Not to mention the real world beyond our wasteful nation expresses itself in all kinds of beautiful and unconventional ways. From African ear gauging to neck stretching.. Just because we choose to pour all our energy and money into overpriced over marketed pressed talc :/ doesn't mean should presume to know what defines beauty.. That being said Tia, you should probably wait until you're older to make a decision that. If you're currently basing it on other people's opinions..you're probably not ready. Good luck :)

Maggie M. ,, preach it girl!
I think it would be BEAUTIFUL. It's truly your personal preference where you want it though. I think you should get a regular labret, if that. You would look nice with a vertical one, but they hurt like a bitch!
Also, take into option spider (not snake) bites. They look great and really feminine on teenage girls.
To all the ladies on her, we're all allowed our own opinions, styles, hair cuts, thoughts and words for a reason. There's no need to bully a young girl into following your beliefs. Lets save that for religion.

Looks beautiful doesn't it?

Thank you Erin V.!
A lot if people are saying "no" because I'm "pretty".
I have very extreme skin problems and I hve numerous scars on my face that will not go away unless I laser them. Therefore, I'm not too concerned with a scar.
When I made this post I as not looking for people to put me down because of my age. I'm definitely not a "regular" teenager, I'm not considering this so I can look "cool", I'm considering it because I think it would be beautiful, and I very much like the look of facial piercings.

So please- don't discriminate against my age.

Tia, did I miss something? Who is putting you 'down because of your age'? I haven't seen one post that put you down in any sort of way. I actually see quite the opposite. People are calling you pretty and not doting on any imperfections that you are describing. They simply answered the question you asked and gave insight as to why they answered the way they did. Sorry, I'm just not seeing the need for the defensive response from you when your feedback has been positive and mostly encouraging!

Tonita, several people(sorry if I took this the wrong way, I apologize if I did so) seemed to be saying that because I was young, I was not smart enough or not responsible enough to get a Labret. I apologize. Thank you all for you input and support.

Lol you can't compare Africa to where we will. Neck stretching in Africa is part of their culture. Also they don't live the same lifestyle. They don't work in professional fields such as offices, banks, law firms etc. At age 13 you don't really realize that but when you grow older become responsible and see the "real world" you will realize that no way in hell such professions will allow facial piercings to portray irresponsibility

@tia I didn't mean to offend you I just simply answered your question which was our opinion

It's funny you say that seline because certain pierced tatto artists make over $250 an hour!!
Not to mention I have seen many 'professionals' with tattoos and although no facial piercings maybe they used to.
You can always take a piercing out. I'm sure if she wants to be a dr she will take it out. I think that is one of the stupidest things to say.
Would I be against her tattooing her face? Absolutely!
The only reason I wouldn't get it if I was her is because of my personal and professional experience with labret piercings.
But as far as the "you'll never get a job, or it looks unprofessional" comments, they just seem pointless.
I'm sorry but I don't think any teenager looks 'professional' facial piercings or not!
I'm sure the look she's going for isn't 'doctor or lawyer chic' anyway!

I was responding to the fact that you stated they're "ugly" that was rude and inappropriate and I think my Africa comment absolutely applies lol..fyi.

I had to have a lab test done yesterday. The nurse had a nose piercing. If she gets one and decides to take it out later she can. I work at an elementary school and am not the only one with tattoos. Most of my friends have tattoos that are covered at work. They include teachers, cops, people who work management jobs, etc.

I also want to throw out there that I work for a nanny agency dealing with only the highest class clients..and I've never once interviewed and been turned down..I also temp through them. Sooo it doesn't rule out real life professionalism if ya ask me ;)

Piercings do not define who you are. They are simply a piece of jewelry. If you are being judged because of piercings, that is so unfair. I got my blood tested last week at KAISER, and the nurse had a nose piercing and has had her tongue and eyebrow. And she was VERY intelligent, professional and friendly. Basing someones intelligence, class or professionalism by a piercing is SO ignorant. People still take me seriously, respect me and hire me for babysitting even though I have a nose piercing.

Not to get into any argument but since the fact of neck stretching and African ear gauging being cultural was brought up.. Isn't facial/body piercing American culture? Isn't American culture free expression of individuality? If you enjoy the look of a labret and feel that it helps you to feel beautiful/express yourself/stand out/etc. then go for it hon.
