Then don't it will look like a wet mess. get some hair gel and spread it through your hair. now French braid your entire head. put on a stretchy hat to prevent frizz (not necessary if your hair is silky). sleep on it. in the morning CAREFULLY unbraid. add more gel or hairspray if needed and bam curly hair for days

After you take a shower, let your hair air dry for a couple of minutes. Then go and use mousse (I use John Frieda frizz ease) and grab pieces of your hair and just ball it up in your hand. It creates the scrunch and waves. Then use gel (also John Frieda frizz ease) and do the same process. When you're done grab your hair dryer and put it on the lowest setting possible, so it won't mess up the waves. As your drying it keep on scrunching it up until your hair is at least 90% dry. And yeah :)

Spray with a setting spray, gel or mousse. Braid, blow dry and viola! The style will last longer if you keep it braided overnight.

Scrunching is to curly hair as smoothing is to straight hair. It's not a method that's meant to change the texture of what's already there.
If you have straight hair, scrunching is a good way to get a frizzy mess that falls flat in an hour. Just curl you hair...whether you use heatless methods like braiding or a headband or an iron, you're still putting a curl in, not scrunching an existing curl into shape.
